Draw Curiosity 2016 in Review - Thank You!

Happy New Year and thanks for an amazing 2016! Sure, globally 2016 hasn't been great, but from the perspective of this little project on the internet, it couldn't have gone better.

This video is quite self-indulgent, but I wanted to give a short history of the origin of this project, a summary of 2016 for Draw Curiosity, lots and lots and lots of thank yous and what is to come in 2017!

Apologies for the audio quality - on the one hand, I don't have the best set up at home (no lights and depending on where you are, it can be noisier), but I also had a dreadful cold which had me bedridden for a few days, so I didn't get a chance to find a better location to shoot either because I was too ill.

2017 - to reiterate:
The plan is to front load as much work as possible. I'll be handing in my PhD at the end of the year, so I'll be inactive from around August onwards - but if I have prepared episodes, those will go up every couple of weeks to keep me covered.

At the front of the year I've got:
➢ 3-5 episodes shot at the YouTube Space at the end of last year
➢ 5 science travel vlogs still unedited
➢ 1 sponsored video
➢ Other content and collaborations I'm planning
➢ A trip to CERN I'm potentially embarking on
➢ VidCon Amsterdam in April
➢ Potentially a few other unconfirmed things
➢ 12-15 episodes to be created over Summer to cover me whilst writing up
➢ Dec 2017 - hopefully, PhD handed in to become Dr. in early 2018!! :)

Best of luck for 2017! You should be very proud of what you've done with this channel in the past year.
Great message in there about not putting off your goals/dreams, and being proactive about what you can do right now to reach them.

Since the first video of yours I saw that Tom Scott put me on to, I've looked forward to watching every video you put out. I hope you're having a great time back home and look forward to watching your videos in the new year. Keep releasing your videos, they are truly inspirational and fun to watch. And yeah, Patreon sounds like a brilliant idea. Oh, and Happy New Year from Australia. :)

Thank you Inés for being you, and putting in all the hard work to follow your dream of being a Science Communicator. I'm one of the multitudes that joined in the Tom Scott wave and have enjoyed the content you've made. I for one will gladly support you on Patreon because I like to support creators whose content is excellent. Keep up the fantastic work and I'll see you in 2017.

Inés, it was really fun watching your channel grow, and it felt surreal watching your subs skyrocket after your spot on Tom's channel. I always knew you'd get to this point (even when this channel was young and you were still fishing for viewers by commenting on other people's videos), and I know you'll go even farther. Thanks for taking us along for the ride in 2016, and look out for more subs as I continue to recommend your channel.

Here's to a great 2017 (12, 017?). I'm sure it will be hard, given how much you've got on your plate, but you can do it!

You've been thanking us so much... I'd like to thank YOU for making these videos and all the tremendous work you've put into this. I really enjoy and learn from what you are doing.

To your patreon question: Sure, do it! Unfortunately, I'm a poor student myself and can't afford to give, but I'd be happy if you could get out more for the great content you provide.

I'd thought you had been doing this for years to get to the level of ease & professionalism you display. The Tom Scott video is where I found you thru, & thought your style & material quite interesting. OCD runs in my family from minor to moderate, so I know some it's curses. Though some it can also make you successful in certain areas. I look forward to your future videos. HAPPY NEW YEAR & BEST WISHES on your doctorate!!!

Looking forward to more Draw Curiosity in 2017 and beyond. I'm a fairly new subsciber but glad I discovered the channel through Tom Scott. Your videos are always well produced, very interesting and I learn something new from each and every one of them :)
