*_do you think it's bad to fake being a beginner artist?_*

Seeing actually talented artists pretending to be beginners for attention is just sad.

Imagine pretending to be a noob just to get attention... But then again, the artist has a point on putting countless hours on a piece and get NO ATTENTION from it, while a low-effort shitpost they made in 5 minutes ends up being the most popular thing they made.

Why does art tiktok remind me of the shy kids who wanted to be theatre kids, but were too awkward so instead to save their egos they thought they were better than everyone because they were just "more chill"

As a young artist who was convinced that my art was amazing, I spent over a decade drawing and i haven't noticed improvement until 3 days ago, no joke.
Remember, Every artist online does not post all their art. They only post their best pieces. Art takes time and people need to understand that. Some may learn faster than others, but the outcome will be worth it if you put work in. Keep going!

Honestly? I just feel bad for the fake beginner artist. Clearly they are very skilled but don't receive much attention nor support which is common for intermediate artists. For the people who genuinely don't understand why this person didn't just show their real art from the beginning, the answer is they probably did (on a dif account) but felt disheartened as people usually only interact with crazy good professional artists or beginner ones, that's just how the internet works.

Edit: I think some people are misunderstanding my point a little bit. In no way am I justifying what this person has done! It is clearly the wrong thing to do but I also don't think this behaviour warrants a bunch of hate, hopefully it'll be a learning point for the artist:)

i dont know whats worse; the fact people do this or the fact that people have such a strong reaction to it instead of just ignoring it

Im honestly just shocked that people actually believed that they where a beginner lol. It took me 2 YEARS to get where i am at making art and its still less quality then this persons actual art. it is nearly, no, straight up IMPOSSIBLE to improve that much in only a FEW DAYS.

Although a part of me feels bad for the fake beginner artist, the other half of me feels that fake beginners who appears to ‘improve’ rapidly may be discouraging to beginner artists who feel they aren’t good at art at all for not improving at the rate candie does

honestly this shouldn't be such big of a deal

I as an intermediate artist, I also get frustrated because only crazy pro artists or beginner artists gets attention

while us, in the middle of pro and beginners, seems to get not a lot of attention

The 170 followers on twitter I got is what I worked for 2 years to get. and I get jealous when people joined for less than a month, yet they got 4K followers and they're just a shitposting account

I don't blame her for doing that, I'd quit an account a LOT of times because I am like any other people on the social media, I want attention. but I dont get the attention I want no matter how much I draw

I'm didn't resort to questionable methods to gain attention is because I'll be guilty of what I am doing, and I simply don't want to be an attention seeker

I feel for them, but no one is owed a social media following, no matter what level of skill they have. This clearly came from a place of a bruised ego, not a genuine experiment. What they did isn’t the end of the world, and I don’t think they should be bullied off the internet completely, but making people who supported what they thought was a beginner artist feel like they’d been duped or deceived is really shitty and probably going to bring more scrutiny on actual beginner artists who improve at a good pace now.

Honestly a pretty valid experiment at the cost of hurting your long run. I think this should moreso highlight the community they have over there but no ones gonna take those notes for awhile

Finally someone who's making this point!, I'm so glad for your take. Making this into such a big deal when the person who did this is a literal kid will never not be wild to me, they did a dumb thing as teens do, and they apologized.. why are we still talking about it? I've seen comments from the kid who did it on another video and from what I've seen all of this have been stressing them out a lot. I don't think it's a good idea to make it a big deal when they already knows what they did is wrong..

Fake Beginner Artists? That’s kinda similar to people faking illnesses to get attention, Now obviously one is more harmful than the other but you can see how the two are similar

I never expected this from the project sekai fandom.

I can sort of understand why people would do this, because I feel like it's fair to say most artists aren't gonna pop off on social media just by the quality of their work; this is probably why people keep trying devious strategies like this one.

The problem is that the hyper-sensationalisation of art like this just feeds the kind of environment that lead to the problem in the first place. The nature of social media is to demand this kind of grandstanding, but by folding under the pressure you are pretty much committing yourself and everyone else to an ever-escalating arms race of increasingly duplicitous and grandiose gestures like the one seen here/

PS Looking dripped as hell in this one bro 🥶

It feel not that deep to me. People say it made real beginner artists feel jealous or bad but when I was a beginner artist I already felt that way with other professionals around me. It’s not that deep, and the faker apologized profusely about it so I don’t get why people are still mad?
