I'm a bassist, but I also play drums. One day, I was jamming with a jazz bassist and told him "hey, I play the drums too, want me to play it? but I just know like three beats" and he told me "no problem, just improvise" "but I dont have theory..." "improvise" So I improvised. Drums and bass are almost one in the song, we dont need all this stuff to play together, just folowing each other rythim. It should be that simple. we dont always need a whole conversation just to play together.
