How a 'Real' Musician can use Suno v3 AI Generated Music

Показать описание
Take your Suno-generated AI music to entire new levels, by making it editable!

This video is mostly for musicians who want to use music created by Suno as a starting point for actual studio projects.

For good reason, people are loving Suno’s latest version of their text-to-song technology. While still just available for Pro and Premium users, it does an excellent job of creating professional sounding songs complete with vocals and full instrumentation.

In this video we talk about how to combine the recorded output of Suno, and then convert it to editable music we can further develop in other programs, like digital audio workstations.

This is where Band-in-a-Box comes in. This software has been on the market since 1990, and I’ve personally been using it since that time, Version 1, on my Atari computer.

Among hundreds of other features, BIAB will identify the chords of a song from the recorded audio, and allow us to apply countless styles and other instrumentation on top of it.

This video is just sharing a concept, rather than going into a deep dive on the BIAB software. If you’re really interested in that, let me know in the comments.

Mostly, I just want musicians and other creatives to think outside-the-box when it comes to what you can do with the content you create on Suno, and any other music generation AI.

📔 ABOUT BOB DOYLE
We live in a freaking crazy time, don’t we?
Artificial Intelligence has exploded into the mainstream, and reactions are varied, to say the least. But for me? I’m all on board! As a creative, today’s technology allows me to take the skillsets I’ve acquired over a lifetime and use them like never before. Instead of feeling threatened by how rapidly seems to be taking of people’s jobs, I see the technology as a way to foster creativity in far more people than are currently tapping into their creative potential. I believe we are here as humans to create. And for me, it’s not an option. If I’m not creating something, I’m dying inside. So Bob Doyle Media is a showcase of my various outlets of creativity, and you’ll see that AI plays a big role in it. From virtual photoshoots and art and animation creation, all the way to voice cloning and face replacement… I play with all of it, and this is where I share it. If you’d like to work together, please reach out. I’d love to connect and talk about how I can contribute to your project.

Much more on Band in a Box please! I've been using it for about five years and it is excellent, the manual is comprehensive (and large!) but watching your turorial was quick and easy to follow.I have subscribed in the hope of more. Thanks for your work.😃

Since I discovered Suno, I have become much more productive, many ideas that I had stagnant I have been able to develop with this tool, I generate ideas and then transform them to what I want starting from scratch, because the sound quality generated is still far from being polished (luckily for us) and then from the material that Suno gives me, I build, perfect, develop or implement your idea in my composition... And it's really fun, it's like having someone else, giving you ideas about what you want to do....

Thank you. I am new to Suno but have been a Band in A Box user and fan for years. I am thrilled they work together.

This was very interesting. As an elderly musician and producer who's seen it all I agree with your idea that musicians and producers need to work with the latest tech to raise their game. However, useful though this technique may be, I imagine the AI will have been suitably upscaled by the end of the year. It's only a matter of time before someone designs a DAW that runs entirely on AI, and does it at any bitrate and sample frequency you like, rendering workarounds like this one obsolete.
[One last thing - I'd forgotten all about Band in a Box! I had no idea it was still a thing. Looks wonderfully retro. I must check it out!]

Great tips! I've used Band-In-A-Box for all my songs to some extent and just discovered Suno. Songwriting is what I'm most comfortable with so I'll probably use Suno to get inspiration for melodies and chord progressions.

Your videos are always a pleasure to watch. Nice and chilled out, no quirky gimmicks and plenty of actual examples of using the AI alongside advising about it.

Holy Cow Batman; err Bob Doyle! :) Great video.
I love how you've made several videos showcasing AI working with Band-in-a-Box. I sincerely hope you will continue creating videos using Band-in-a-Box with other applications. Are you aware your videos are featured in the PG Music forum? Exciting stuff.

Great presentation. I have been wanting to create non copyrighted music for some time and this appears like a great place to start.

I am so glad I have found this video, I have struggled using BIAB for years and you explained three or four things in5 minutes, amazing! You have got a subscriber now 😊

Amazing. I was wondering how actual musicians would use Suno. Like you said at the start, AI is an enabler, not a replacer. Much like Band in a Box which has been around for an eternity. ❤

Great video, thanks! I bought Band in a Box years ago and never really used it. Now I can see a great use for it! Thanks for taking the time to show how it's done, Bob. 👍🙏

many years ago (20+) i losst my passion for music what suno has done is made that too long ago fire get lit again. so now its back to suck so much info on mastering\editing\ daw and what not to make my own stuff, why i never heard of band in a box before is behond me but never the less great stuff def gponna dive into that soon, thren i can fiddle with alot of the ideas from suno with proper instrumentas rather then the gawd danm noisy instruments that suno unfortunaly very often gives back. So i thank you for telling me on this gem. def will check out much love :) <3

I've been editing the generated songs in an audio editor... cutting, overlapping parts (I generate more than one version of the same song, so I have several excerpts available), and inserting real lines (me playing and singing)... it's really fun and results in interesting things... at least for me, obviously, since I'm not a professional. And I also think it’s essential to use non-artificial lyrics. I will certainly include the band-in-a-box in the creation process. Thanks for the tip ;)

I did this last year with Suno V2 and BiaB. Results were ok, but I ended up changing the progression and style to fit my playing.

This is it. I've been exporting from BIAB to Cubase Pro for a few years now, this is another weapon in the armoury. thanks for the heads up.

Agreed with you... And I say: To disown technology is stupid, this is the way the industry is going, the world in general... whether we like it or not, so the best we can do is adapt and use it to our advantage.

Great vid. I'm a long time BIaB user (and agree that it's so deep, you never use all the features). My current wish is that Suno let you export the various stems. I might try some of the 'separation' software that's out there just to see how that works. That would make it a lot easier to work with stuff like Toontrack or Melodyne.

I have been using BIAB which their first release and appreciate this video and agree with you that the joy of music is the goal not how we create the tools. Products like BIAB and SynthV has made me more creative and allows me to do more work for clients quicker, for less cost and with more variation. Only once did I have a client freak out because I used a tool like Band-in-the-box. I am exploring ways to use Suno and other next generation composing tools to my work flow. Thanks for the video.
