Nikon Z6 vs Canon EOS-R? My initial thoughts...

Just an initial 1st look at the Nikon Z6 and what I think of it compared to my EOS-R after a first use. A full review is coming so stay tuned!

I use the Z6 for vlogging using my phone and snapbridge to check focus. It's super simple and I can touch the phone to focus on a subject which is even easier than reaching over and touching the touch screen.

I really like the look with your new studio and lighting. The only issue I have is that the 24mm and the distortion of your face at close distance. Why not shoot with a 50mm and move the camera a little back?

Hmm...skin color does look more natural on the Nikon and your eyes are better in focus than the Canon showed, but that might just be because of f4.0 vs. f2.8 on the Canon.

For the price difference you can get the atomos and record 10-bit with the screen facing you.

Just curious, for the Nikon at least while you are recording at a desk cant you just use the app for focus? Not sure if that is a possibility?

Something is up with your audio settings. It sounded like there was clipping happening. There is no way it sounds that bad.

Never understood the "initial thoughts" line of videos. This fanboyism has gone too far. I'm a Nikon shooter because that was my first camera and I liked it and invested in more bodies and more glass. That's it. Who cares what camera one uses? If someone likes Sony, cool! If a buddy of mine is a Canon shooter, great! The point of it all is to just get out and shoot!!

Did you grade the Cannon? I guess the two different lens used is a big difference. The difference in sound is huge too.

There is an app that really helps for that flippy screen, we can use our phones as an external monitor and never having doubts if we are in focus or not. And talking about cards... xqd and the upcoming cf fast are a lot faster than any other card...But the bigger advantage of Nikon is the ibis for both stills and videos.

Power button on the left LOL. In real life i open my backpack with the left and grabbing the camera with right turning the camera ON with the same movement while closing the backpack with the left. The eos-r was designed by whotf?
