The brakes are really hard to pull, and when they are like that, you can't brake hard enough to stop on a dime. Today we replace the cable and housing.

Thank you, it helped as i have a broken rear brake cable on my hybrid bike. i have been riding my bicycles exclusively for over ten years, finally sold my car when i got tired of driving it around every week to keep the battery charged. But i know nothing about repairs, always meaning to take a class. So repair videos online have been valuable to me. Tune-ups are pricey, but i do get those every couple of years on my tall hybrid, and every few years on my two mountain-style short bikes. What i forget most is to lube the chains, as they can get rusty over Winters in NY.
