for those who don't know, when water gets cold enough, it freezes into a solid. it can be very slippery, and melts when it warms up. it is exceptionally useful for cooling down drinks when it is in a cubic shape. other shapes can be used too, cubes are just the most common.

explanation: this is a form of water known as "ice". when water gets cold enough, it turns into ice. ice is very slippery and can be dangerous, if it's too cold it can't be shattered very easily

fun fact:

Ice, the solid state of water, forms when the temperature drops below its freezing point of 0°C (32°F). As water freezes, its molecules slow down and arrange themselves into a hexagonal lattice, creating a crystalline structure that makes ice less dense than liquid water, allowing it to float. This unique property, along with its transparency, brittleness, and low thermal conductivity, contributes to the formation of stunning ice formations, from delicate frost to massive glaciers. Ice forms in various environments, from snowflakes falling in winter to glaciers that slowly move and shape landscapes by eroding mountains and carving valleys. Glaciers, vast rivers of ice, can stretch for miles, and icebergs, large chunks that break off and float in the ocean, demonstrate the immense power and movement of ice. Beyond nature, ice has significant cultural importance, having been used throughout history for food preservation, medicinal purposes, and as a source of artistic inspiration. In modern life, the freezer has inherited this ancient role of preserving food and keeping things cool. Ice also plays a critical role in regulating Earth's climate, with ice sheets and glaciers reflecting sunlight, helping to maintain global temperatures. In polar regions, ice acts as a crucial buffer, keeping the planet's temperature balanced, but when ice melts, it raises sea levels, posing risks to coastal communities. Ice is more than just a frozen liquid; it is a powerful force of nature, shaping the environment, influencing climate, and continuing to captivate scientists and artists alike, showcasing its importance not only in the natural world but in human culture and history.
