The older gentleman at the end brought tears to my eyes. He could barely stand and still tried to help her. He is so kind. We need more people like him.

In 1970, my father was returning home after learning of his father's death. He saw a woman on the side of the road with 3 children and a flat tire. He stopped to change it because he realized that the 20 minutes wouldn't bring his father back, but it would put this family safely on the road. I am proud to call him my Dad.

I helped a Muslim woman with flat tire on highway #6 in Lexington SC on September 13, 2021 and offered her my church's card. She told she was Muslim, but she thanked me for my help. I told her that I know she was Muslim by what it said on her van's bumper sticker and just wanted her to know we're all still just people and we'll get through this together. I ran into her from time to time til I moved west. She always thank me for my kindness and thoughtfulness. I thanked her for allowing me the chance to show my humanity.

I drove a taxi for 17 years I can not tell u how many times I stopped and helped so many people with flat tiers or give them jumps, even many of them offered to give me money, of course I refused. It just brings pleasure to my heart to see them happy and on their way.

One time a stopped to help an old man with a flat tire in a desert highway. I was ready to give him my spare cause his was not there. When i removed the flat tire... his son arrived with a new spare. Both thanked me and we talked a little. This episode reminded me of that. It feels good to help people.

There are a lot of good people who stopped to help but one lesson learned from this is how much we should treasure our elderly people. They have so much knowledge to share with us and so many experiences. They stop because of the things they have went through in their own lives that they wished they had that helping hand for so they offer it out to others. We need to take care of them and most importantly learn from this with the time we have left with them.
