If you park in violation of a community’s rules, you’d expect to be towed. But what does Utah law say about parking enforcement signs that are confusing?

James emphasized $300 was a significant amount of money to him. I don't know anyone would be happy about paying $300 to get their car back.

Good investigative journalism, Gephardt👍! I wish I knew why nearby where I live, nobody ever gets towed for parking directly in front of a fire hydrant every day. I regularly shop along a sidestreet, though a busy and very wide street, and driver after driver, after driver ( I could go on all day here with etc., ) think absolutely nothing of pulling up and parking in front of the same hydrant. It's even as though if the driver can align the middle of their car to the center of the hydrant, the better. The other day I pointed out to a driver the 3 ft. away promoxity her car was to the hydrant. She casually blew it off and said the car was ok. A Mercedes driver, of course. Anytime people start talking about blatant disregard for rules and regulations on the streets, it's always explained away as driver entitlement syndrome. It's to the point in the ritzy area I live whenever I see a Tesla, and it's a lot, I shudder knowing it'll be just a second or two I can expect some kind of entitlement move, otherwise known as just plain lazy. Of every car you see pulled over getting a ticket, is it ever a Tesla? I think not. And if ever it is, I honestly hope we all park safety somewhere, not in front of a hydrant, and applaud 👏!

Vineyard is notorious for towing vehicles constantly. That is why that area next to the train station is filled with cars parked on the street. Rather than fixing the problem and add more space to park they enforce the rules harder.

Wow, I can't believe that community actually cut a check. That's fantastic!

Obviously bad signage. The fact that tow companies are even patrolling suburban neighborhoods at 1 AM is odd. Why is a permit only needed between 1 and 5? They assume it's someone staying over and they want to make sure they charge them? And the fact that a news station has to get involved because of scummy practices. That towing company should be ashamed.

I once had butt hurt cop try to setup me up once, but that's it's own story, but the only department that I could say is broken & corrupt to the core, I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with it, it's the parking authority. 🤥
