Plane makes emergency landing on North Carolina highway

According to the Swain County Sheriff’s Office, the plane landed on Highway 19 around 11:50 a.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported.

Anyone saying this isn't a crazy save, load up MSFS and try this landing out yourself. Kudos to the pilot.

The entire purpose of an airplane's propellers is to keep the pilot cool because, if they ever stop spinning, he immediately starts sweating.

Will have to wait for and read the full report to find out just what exactly happened but a couple of things stood out here. He miraculously has a Go-pro is mounted to the wing when this happens. This pilot was skilled enough to land in a turn like that...no easy task. It was reported that the pilot had less than 100 hours so he's a very new pilot. Most people earn their private pilot's license with about 50-60 hours on average. Nobody trains for landing in a turn so that was quite a feat if not planned ahead of time. The engine was running, even if just at idle, all the way until he stopped and shut it down so it wasn't a full power loss and he didn't run out of gas. If it had quit completely the propeller would have stopped while he was rolling out when there wasn't enough air flow to keep it windmilling.

Edit: I just read another article where it was reported one of the fuel lines from one of the fuel tanks was clogged. If this is all what is reported then that guy did a fantastic job with a handful of airplane.

Glad nobody was hurt. On the surface seems like a spectacular save. If so, kudos to the pilot. However, I will wait till the NTSB investigation is released before drawing final conclusions...sure they'll have something to add that will help people determine if this was real or staged.
