I am using a Galaxy S9 plus for four years. I never had accidental touches because... hello.... everyone uses their phones with a case. I can't go back to a flat display, I love them. Most importantly, as I saw in another review, the miui has specific settings where you can reduce the sensitivity of the edges as well as the area of touching, so it has one of the best software implementations for accidental touch rejection.

I have the Mi 9 for 3 years now. Never had any issues. I will probably have this xioami 12 as a replacement. Fits what I like on any phones. And the main thing i like is it's not very bulky. Can fit in my pocket. Don't like big phones.

Honestly I loved the display because of the curved edges and it's brightness, sorry about the accidental touches

I think the issue is in you with the accidental touches, these curves are so tiny, I didn't have any issues with that, especially if you have a case which 90% of people do have. p.s. I also hate curved displays but some companies did it right. Last curved samsungs and this one finally made the balance between cool looking and not such a big curve to make you nervous. Also not to mention that you can enable the accidental touches option which helps a lot. :)

Can you do a review on older phones that can still be used in 2022?

Dang the cameras on the Xiaomi 12 Pro is saturated but the 12 looks a tad overblown or wash out sometimes. Now thats some inconsistencies right there. Hopefully Xiaomi can better optimised this before the global launch of this devices. Otherwise, the challenger which are S22 and S22+ wil definitely beat them in image processing, even if they cost an arm and a leg.

Also a problem with the Xiaomi 12 series is that the 8 gen 1 chip overheats with doing the benchmark test and gaming after some time. Because of that it will end the benchmark tests and force close your game to not burn the phone.

Totally agree with your sharing. Curved edges is problem ... Samsung S10plus also same curved edge.

The best smartphone chipset after A15 Bionic today is dimensity 1200.. that's the most underrated chipset..Pubg 90 fps, , better image processing than sd 8 gen 1 or Sd 888.. better 120hz handling..no heating issue whatsoever

I hope all android flagship must use mediatek dimensity chipset for now..until Snapdragon stop messing with 8 series..its was ok up to sd 870..but after that..sd 888 onwards are real headache...sorry 4 my bad English

And i hope Xiaomi make compact phone for cheap phone like redmi note series too.. that's will be awesome

Thanks to your video I found how to increase the accidental touch area and it worked for me!
I wasn't going to buy the Xiaomi 12 but my Mi 11 died 3 weeks before the warranty expired and Xiaomi offered the 12 as a replacement.
I'm loving it far more than I thought I would. My daily driver is actually an S22 ultra but I'm constantly reaching for the Xiaomi 12 just cause it's more compact without being tiny. Lovely device ❤

Using it now coming from poco f2 pro..curve screen has no effect if u have a casing on..never had accidental touches.
Heats start appearing even playing basic games like brawl star.
But battery life is not that good.
Around 6 hours of usage, battery is left with 30%.
Almost identical to s7 edge

Thank you for your review, I agree I would only buy a flat screen. I don't really like MIUI, I am thinking of swapping my Poco F3 for a S21 5G.

How to avoid accidental touches? Rest the back of the phone on your index/middle/ring finger, the pinky goes UNDER your phone and you use the thumb to press the display, I have held my smartphones like that my whole life, even with a flat screen if you curve your fingers to hold your phone like you show you will have accidental touches because the fingers CURVE and go over the display.

Used the S8 without a case for five years. Not a single accidental touch.

I tested what you said about the display on the side, I had no problems at all . Thx to your experience I had to buy this :)

Hi.
Great review. Other reviews complain about the Xiaomi 12 and 12 pro overheating very quickly when gaming and quickly clocking down.

this kind of small compact phone should have a headphone jack, IP rating, and charger in the box. And more companies need to release compact phones because nowadays all phones have a 6.67-inch screen I don't know for what reason !! and bulky which might not work for everyone. I've been using one plus 7 pro for the past 2.5 years it's almost done !! now I need a new small compact phone with all the basic features right, because I've lost hope on OP

I totally agree with you. I hate curved screens, I wish companies would stop making them
