Oh my gosh! The comment where someone compared the interview to a supervision session is such a smart way to think about it! Kinda takes the pressure off and it’s quite nice to view it in a different way :) thanks for the video that has helped me greatly

Thank you for putting this together! I have a law interview for St John’s on Thursday and I’m really excited! But I’m worried because ofc I had to go and get a cold which is leaving me bed bound 😍 hopefully it will be gone by then

One thing that gets me about these videos is that they contradict each other. People seem to have super different opinions about what makes a good interview.
Some say to pause, hesitate and be methodical before opening your mouth. Others say "talk and talk" to show how you think and process information.

Each student is relaying *what they did* and what they *think* got themselves into Cambridge. But the problem is that was it really "X thing they did" that got them into Cambridge? It could very well be that they got into Cambridge in *spite of* "X thing they did".

This isn't to blame the students. They can't really be 100% sure about anything regarding the admissions process. The interview peocess is by design dense and obtuse to outsiders. Just kinda sucks to be on the outside trying to figure out how to get in though.

I think another call video would be a postgrad equivalent, as they’re a bit different from what heard!

🤧 I messed up in my interview.
I feel online interviews are more like question and answers. They just told me to read, asked me a question and I answered (not well). They tried to help me to look deeper but I just couldn't showcase critical thinking 🫠I could feel the atmosphere of "I've given up on this candidate" in the middle of the interview. 😅

I really wanted to discuss ethics and morality regarding law, especially the things I wrote in my Personal statement.
But nooo they asked my about my work experience and not the cases 😭 which was fine but the whole interview was more like 'question' 'answer' 'question' 'answer'. 🥹

How do I get over agonising over my interview performance? I keep looking back and cringing. Also they had 3 exercises set out for the time limit, so even if i wanted to talk about the question more, they would say that we have to move on 😭

Either way, I enjoyed it very much apart from my awful performance haha. They were quite nice and the atmosphere wasn't as tense as I expected! It was fun to go through this experience and I'm grateful to have gotten this experience too. I also appreciate them taking so much time out to interview all of us haha.
