As a scientist who makes videos about climate change on YouTube, you get some very... interesting YouTube comments. In this video I react to some of them and try to clear up some climate misconceptions!

Total Carbon emissions since Industrial revolution -
US accounts for 25%
EU accounts for 22% (if Britain included then it jumps to 27%)
China accounts for 13%
India accounts for only 3%

People (especially western people) usually forget to look at these kind of data and start blaming developing countries but hey if you look at current emission rankings (1. China, 2. US, 3. EU, 4. India) you may find that developed western countries still pollute this planet more than developing countries.

Dr Clark, as someone from the 'developing world', can I just say thank you? I am so sick and tired of first worlders blaming climate change on relatively recent open economies enjoying their economic growth. Are there costs to that? Of course, but anyone from a firstworld country who says 'shut down China and India' need their head examined.

The people commenting on "shutting down" developing countries including the one mentioned in the comment themselves own 2 cars and fly most of the times travelling putting very little effort and not realizing themselves that they produce more carbon emissions than an average person from a developing country
