HOW does a REVERSE OSMOSIS drinking water system WORK? #shorts

1) First water flows into the inlet and through the sediment filter to remove dirt

2) Then it flows through not one, but two carbon filters to remove chemicals like chlorine, herbicides and pesticides

3) You need two carbon to give your water enough contact time to remove the chemicals.

4) From there it flows through the Reverse Osmosis membrane under pressure and it separates the Reverse Osmosis water that flows into the tank, which now has 90% less mineral content from the high mineral content waste water that flows to the drain.

5) Once the tank is full the back pressure shuts off the flow using the ASO valve.

6) When you open the faucet, you get super pure RO water flowing from the faucet quickly if you have a HUM Water Saver 75 like this one!

We have an older RO system that we'd like to get running again. It hasn't been used in about 2+ years. We plan to replace the filters and membrane, but not sure if the storage tank is still safe to use? Would you have any recommendations on how to clean out the storage tank or should we just replace it? Thank you!

What is wrong if the system is draining louder into the drain causing an annoying dripping noise? We replaced the membrane two months ago and it still does it. Also we have white particles in the water. My research said it could be the final carbon filter so I’m gonna try replacing it. Thanks in advance!

Hi Gary. I have salty tasting well water. How can I fix this problem so the water is drinkable. I already have a 3 stage big blue filter system with the 5 micron sediment filter and the 2 carbon activated filters.

Hi Gary, i was wondering if I could as you something.

I have a remineralizing cartridge on the top of my RO system, I think the minerals are the last stage (they are connected first to the UV light then to the faucet) And I am wondering if you know if the water that stays on the tank has the minerals already on it or do the minerals get added each time I serve myself water?

I’m asking this because I wanted to taste the pure RO water without minerals so I removed the mineral cartridge, served myself a glass and then put the minerals back. However the taste is the same so I’m not sure if the water I’m tasting is already mineralized from the tank…
