I just looked it up, because I was interested in the history, and brownies are literally from the US! They originated in the 1896 Boston Cooking-School Cook Book, written by Fannie Farmer.

Nestlé Quik- at 65 I cannot live without it ! Been a staple for my milk since I can remember! ...when it used to come in a huge tin with a circular metal lid you popped of at the top center! Afyer school every day too- my glass of Quick amd Oreos or Chips Ahoy cookies- when they used to be twice as big as they are now too!
