There's a universe where we got a venom film before a spider-man one. that's actually wild.

Sony should stop wasting 1b on characters like morbius or madam Webb and just make amazing spiderman 3 already

For me, the best version of Venom is still from the 90s animated series.
In terms of the comics, I really enjoyed the "Vengeance of Venom" story arc.

Andrew Garfield Spider-Man would have been very fitting for Tom Hardy’s Venom as he never fought an alien as the other Peter Parker’s have.

Marvel fans: "We want VENOM to be R-Rated."

Avi Arad: "VENOM will be PG-13, so everyone can bring their children to watch it. It will be fun for the whole family."

Me: "Þussy"

It seems like David S. Goyer was tapped to write every comic book character.

I remember reading the 1997 Goyer script and i noticed how creepily similar it was to the 2018 movie and even SM3. It makes ne wonder if the writers were inspired by the Goyer script. While the CG would've looked horribly dated, I would still love to see a practical/animatronic Venom and Carnage suit.

Boy, Randy Schueller must feel like he got niffed for selling his idea for just $220 after seeing how insanely popular the Black Suit became.

Also, it's funny how certain elements from Goyer's script would be incorporated into not only the 2018 film, but Spider-Man 3 as well.

Venom not being in NWH was one of the Marvel/Sony's dumbest decisions

Honestly the late 90s Venom pitch sounds pretty decent honestly if Green lit it couldve worked as it's own fun self contained story without heavily relying on Spidermans presence or connection however the CGI and practicals may have not aged well

Honestly, imagine an Agent Venom movie with Joe Manganiello.

AVI ARAD has ruined so far...

* Borderlands
* Daredevil (2003)
* The Punisher (2004)
* Elektra (2005)
* Fantastic Four (2005)
* X-Men: The Last Stand
* Spider-Man 3
* Bratz (2007)
* Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
* The Amazing Spider-Man 2
* Ghost in the Shell (2017)
* Venom: Let There Be Carnage
* Uncharted (2022)
* Morbius

And now he's gonna ruin...

* Kraven the Hunter
* Venom: The Last Dance
* Legend of Zelda
* Naruto

As long as Arad lives, there's no hope

David Goyer's story for Venom feels like a combination of the first two Venom films from Sony we actually got minus a few things from the films we got. It's cool how writers and people adapting only a factor of Marvel Comics lore can make do with what they have. To be fair, some properties have so little to work with or so much restrictions that you might have no choice but to take creative liberties. I don't think David's film would've been the best adaptation, but it'd be interesting to see. Just because a stand alone movie featuring a Spider-Man character doesn't have Spider-Man doesn't mean it'll be bad, it's just how you go about doing it that makes or breaks it. Shame Sony keeps dropping the ball with Spider-Man and his characters. Morbius and Madame Web became not only bad Spider-Man films but bad movies in general.

It’s crazy to think there could’ve been a Venom movie before Spider-Man

All I’m saying, Topher Grace having a Venom movie after the epicness of Spider-man 3 would’ve been peak Marvel. The potential of having an Agent Venom movie at some point after an Amazing Spider-man 3 would be absolutely awesome. Keep up he fantastic work Bullets & Blockbusters, your videos are always extremely interesting.

Goyer's Venom is literally the most "late 1990s" thing I have ever heard of.

Carnage was also supposed to be in the first Venom film. Paolo Giandoso who was a concept artist did a few concept pieces. TheThirdFloor vfx studio did previs with Carnage and Venom of the final battle which originally was during daytime. Visualization artist Nina Helene Hirten also spoke on how Sony was undecided on going fully through with Carnage and by the time they made a decision to not have him in the movie, the previs models were already finished which eventually led Paolo to create Riot designs which were sort of inspired by Carnage. Tony Liberatore also did storyboards with Carnage for the movie.

I can't really get behind Venom having an origin that doesn't involve the Symbiote/Eddie's combined hatred of Spiderman/Peter Parker.

To me, it's like having Batman without dead parents. Those events are key to the birth of the character.

They cast Dolph as the Punisher and considered him for Venom, but I wonder if there were ever plans for him to be Thor? He would have been perfect in the 80s or 90s.

It would’ve been cool if Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man got the suit in the third film, then had to fight Venom in a fourth film. Especially after how the Amazing Spider-Man two ended, the story potential would’ve been great
