I still own a 2009 Chevy Malibu 2LT with the 3.6L engine and 151k miles as of this comment. Overall, I love the car and i still haven't found any car that feels more comfy for me to drive. Engine sounds nice and has nice power (252 hp)

I own a 2009 malibu 2.4 with just over 271, 000 miles. Have owned it since 90, 000. But have the maintenance records since it had 30K. It still has the Original engine, timing chains and transmission. Changed oil every 3-5K and transmission fluid every 30K. The biggest problem other then wear and tear parts is the electric steering, the steering angle sensor has been replaced twice and the steering motor once, but it's been a pretty good car overall still average 25-30 mpg.

I love this series so much. No one on YouTube is doing this so well for cheap cars. Love that you are doing this. I hope you become the Doug demuro of cheap cars.

I own a 2010 chevy malibu 2.4 and I will say it can be a pain. Had to replace fuel pump, alternator, fuse box, transmission, water pump etc. Gauge cluster went out. The steering wheel randomly locks but I just turn it off then back on and starts normal. With that being said, I still love that malibu. I would recommend it but I would prefer a Honda or Toyota

My vehicle model year is 2010 with 2.4 liter engine. Right now I have 195k miles on it, so far so good. Bought it used in April with some maintenance and repair items fixed. Now I'm debating on changing the transmission fluid. Haven't decided. Thanks for posting it. Helps me out.

Have a 2011. Ya I agree with everything said. Have not had any major issues with mine. Just replaced one front wheel bearing, also replaced the fuse panel in the trunk because the defogger fuse melted. Its a good thing to use some dielectric grease on the fuses to prevent corrosion. Had the transmission seal replaced because it was sweating but it was really cheap. Other then this the rest is all original. I dont like the seats, the car could use a lot more power, and there is no access to replace the headlight bulb in the 2011. To upgrade the lights to LED I had to take the bumper off, light housing. Probably 30 screws and clips to change a light bulb. This was fixed in later models.

I have a 2009 Malibu with 275, 000 on it with original motor and trans. Only big repairs were the suspension and water pump at 230, 000 miles.

I've had mine since 2015, its a 2012. 218k miles, its been good mechanically speaking BUT its VERY light or at least feels that way. Sways in heavy winds, doesn't have a "heavy" or "solid" feeling drive like a Camry or Accord. Gas mileage SUCKS, despite being a 4cyl, 23 mpg avg is pure trash, and its NOT comfortable. Its paid off, so can't justify buying a new car, but I'd be happy when it craps out to force me into a Camry.

I have a 2008 Malibu LTZ (2.4L four cylinder engine) with 304k miles. I can tell you in my 43 years of age this has been one of the most reliable if not the most reliable car i have ever owned. 304k miles with original power train and barely gives me any problems! However, I think you missed the most problematic part of this car, which is the exhaust system! So far I have changed four exhaust manifolds because they crack down so quickly also changed many oxygen sensors before other than that it’s a bulletproof car.

I almost bought one of these a few years back. But the guy I was going to buy it from smashed it the day before I was going to buy it, so I bought an entirely different car.

Have a 2009 Malibu. Having a break issue where the breaks stay stuck when pressing too hard. Any idea what the issue could be?

Put a deposit to hold a 2010 Malibu earlier today, the 2.5l i4 model. It has 140K on it, service history shows transmission service but not if the transmission was ever replaced or repaired and have heard they usually crap out around 100-150k miles. Im in a really bad spot and need something reliable that wont need major repairs done anytime soon, do you think its worth pulling the trigger on it? I should add overall the car was in good shape and felt pretty good, it had been sitting for 2 weeks and the first time I opened it up there was some delay and an odd almost lurchy feeling but it never repeated.

I own and drive Saturn's version of Chevy Malibu in my profile photo is a 2008 Saturn Aurora XE powered by a 3.5 l V6 4-speed automatic transmission and I bought this car and 2022 for $2, 000 to replace a '04 Honda Accord that unfortunately was wrecked by a drunk driver. Driving a 2012 Ford f150 and he also struck a 2002 Ford f150 and a 2017 Chevy suburban as well while it was parked on the side of my sister's home. I've have done maintenance like replace the power steering lines and pump rack and pinion transmission lines and I also just replaced a alternator serpentine belt control arms on both sides which is the driver side and passenger side and just recently I have been replacing a set of rims and tires on it as well. It currently has 212, 852 Miles on it but that's where it's stuck at because I have some sort of electrical issue with it right now. Now and I also need to put in a heater core in it because I don't have no heat. But I also had to replace the radiator three times and I also put in another thermostat and a water pump in it. But I will still consider it a buy. Anyone getting deja vu when you drive your 2008 Chevy Malibu or Pontiac G6 or Saturn Aurora XE or XR wherever you go because I see the cars that I mentioned everyday that I'm out there driving and my place of work berkley collision and Auto Care in berkley, Michigan. My place of work has a Pontiac G6 currently being mechanically repaired right now and I also recently detailed and cleaned a 2009 Chevy Malibu

I like this car, do you think there are good after market suspensions that could improve cars like this or others you have reviewed?

Where are you buying these for 4k? I can't find any used cars with less than 200, 000 miles for under 7k. Is that just a California issue or?...
