I have an all-original 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500. It has nearly 300, 000 miles. Even with all the internal plastic pieces they switched to in this generation, it’s still held up better than most Fords I see from similar years.

My first truck was a chevy Silverado. 280k miles trucks been every mudhole I saw in my teen years and it still runs like a top. I got it when i was 14 and I'm nearly 29. I've put an alternator on it. I think I'll keep my chevy

I agree with Scotty on the closing statement: "rather pay cash for a car that's 5 grand used than get no interest on an $80K car." :) Really hits home. A coworker just went for a $75K Silverado with low interest and incentives. Monthly auto loan payment higher than my monthly home mortgage. No thanks.
