Tom, don't worry about video length, any amount between 10 and 120 minutes are fine.

At any other time this would be a PR disaster and would be drastically blown out of proportion, and it would be wiser to just eat the RMA's, but now they will practically be hailed as saints for not shipping bad product lol, because people have been temporarily reminded that it's good for things to work and NOT break.

It’s weird how the ‘Tom is just an Intel hater’ rhetoric died off really suddenly once these i9 failures started becoming publicized. Guess the truth finally set a lot of people free of the bandwagoning

Finally, the nostalgic intro that pushes back to Zen 1 era lol

So glad I went AM5 with my first ever PC build. Go AMD.

Honestly, I keep saying it but it just makes me even more hyped for the X3D variant with how they care about the quality of their products.

Intro brings me back. I found your channel when Jim from AdoredTV shouted you out sometime around 2018. The leadup to Zen 2 and figuring out how chiplets were about to change silicon manufacturing is something I won't forget.

Well this makes actual sense from AMD unlike intel complete BS explanations.

AMD capitalizing on what Intel didn't do. Why wouldn't AMD pull this off. Make it look like they found issue, pull back launch, then release. The front of going the extra mile for their customers knowing those new chips are flawless. Smart move AMD. I'm jumping to AMD.

My question is where the F is the consumer protection agency? Shouldn’t they be pulling the 13th and 14th i9 and i7 off the shelves. It’s unconscionable that someone could walk into a store and purchase a PC or an intel processor that two months later may fail. Until intel identifies exactly which models and batches then all should be deemed suspect. Seriously this agency needs to be cleaned out. Hopefully soon.

I have an Asus ROG Strix 16 (I think that's the model), with a 13980HX. I got a BIOS update forced on me around 11-12/2023. For months I had crashes and random problems like people describe until I rolled back to an older BIOS and disabled all the automatic BIOS updates since then. I can confirm that the BIOS I am on is stable, however, due to the ASUS BIOS not exposing the precise settings/power/etc, I can't tell exactly what caused the problem, as there's no info on TDP or other settings.

It's very disturbing because it puts the product into the light of possible unexpected total failure. That Windows installation slowly became completely corrupt and I was only able to do a file recovery since the OS image was unusable even on the old BIOS.

Lisa Su said today on CNBC to not believe all the speculation. She said it's just noise.

*As an owner of an 14700K.... I wish Intel was this proactive about their product quality. Instead of reactive.*

Kudos to Amd for tackling the minor problem before Launch. A week or two delay won't matter at all in the scheme of things, but having ones Cpu inevitably die on you like with the Intel 13/14th gen debacle is a serious issue.

They seem to be missing a trick - you just up the voltage and ignore the future warranty issues.

I thought the typo was a troll, glad to see that's likely the case

I'd rather have AMD ship fully working products and if it means a short delay fine as it's not the end of the world.

I love AMD, they won me over with prices, features, and a socket that will be supported many gens. DIdn't want intel and have to upgrade mobo in a year lol going from 7700x to 9800x3d is going to be AWESOME. Then it wont hold back the 7900xtx like it does for some games.

Intel: Just ram voltage up its arse it will pass
AMD: There may be some issues with very early samples so we will re check them all and downgrade if they dont meet spec.
