Judaism certainly developed a similar legalism and fallacious view of God as arbitrary and capricious that Islam would later have. The formation of the new covenant makes sense when you read of the Jews needing the love for God written on their hearts and how the draconian laws were necessary to guide a tribe so prone to idolatry and sin in general which makes their reading the old testament rather ironic. All rabbinical Judaism has now is the law, the sign with no substance behind it.

The Trinity is pagan Greek philosophy mixed with the schema of the Jews.

As Gregory of Nyssa said, the Trinity is a position between polytheism and the schema of the Jews. The middle way between those two and the middle is the truth or something if I remember correctly.

I have met many Christians who say yes the Jews see us as idolaters and we do not worship the same God. They worship a portion of the one true God while we worship him fully through the Trinity.
