One of the virtues of the Fiskars X5 (which I don't own) and the X7 is that they make amazing splitting wedges when coupled with a good stout wood baton. You can split pretty good sized wood using this method. Been using Fiskars axes since before the X series and haven't managed to kill one yet.

Enjoyed the video not necessarily for the ax review but for the background imagery. I live in Florida and I miss the snow and forestry. Swamps, sand and stifling heat here. But the ax review was good too. If we could only build an AC pit I might get to out to the swamp more. 😁

Nice video! I was on the fence about getting an X5, but I definitely will now. It'll be the perfect complement to the Silky Gomboy 240 pull saw I just got, that I cannot speak highly enough of..

Between the Silky saw for cuts and the X5 for splitting kindling, limbing, and bark removal it should be perfect for camping. Keep up the good work!

Just take the axe and a diamond rod = will last longer than any saw or fixed blade plus both hammers and can cut cable.
A Kabar MK1 slides into the handle of the x5 and extends the grip for x7 type chopping in a very tidy package.

The video was very informative and the scenery was beautiful. I think this works as a very portable emergency axe. Maybe you can use a strong big knife instead of this, but I think it is better to use a knife when you need a knife and use and axe when you need an axe. This is worth its weight to carry, but I think it would be better with a bit longer handle. +5 cm would be very beneficial.

what a joke....anyone who have splited wood once in his life would never buy this ridiculous axe sample....common....
