Fiskars X27 and X25 Splitting Axe Review

I received both these axes for Christmas last year, and finally got around to doing a review.
The X25 and the X27 are basically the same axe, but the X27 has a longer handle. Despite having a hollow plastic handle the axe feels balanced. The handles are really durable too. I have beat them both, and they are holding up. I am 5' 10" and prefer the control of the shorter X25.

I have the X25 and the control and efficiency of it is great. Wonderful axe.

I watched your video a while back, but forgot to comment. I ended up buying the X25. Thanks for the video review.

i just bought an x27 today for a quick buck splitting some timber for a mate and i thoroughly enjoyed it haha.

im 6 5" and the long handle was so comfortable and on top of that i swing pretty wild sometimes and this thing seems indestructible haha great review!

I've had them all. When I got the FISKARS X25, it was absolutely the best ever. I bought the X27 and have used it a lot, but my aim is more accurate with the X25. With stringy hardwoods aim is everything. 1/4" off from your previous hit above, and you're starting a New split. I'm 64 and 6'1". I always use a chopping block so I can make contact at a more 90° angle, with wide bucks of oak the buck stays put until the last swing.

Great review...technology sure has come a long ways. I remember using an ax in the early 80s that was an antique...and heavy. Can you please put a link in the "Description" section where to buy? I have been told I need to start doing that also with my videos and just started doing that.

Wouldnt even thing of getting or using an axe shorter than 3 feet...shorter axe can hurt you
