What a lovely first thing to see when I logged on this morning. Hope you enjoy The Severing Son when you get to it. I've heard from a few that the scene the cover depicts is all the more memorable and moving once one reads to it, which is exactly as we hoped. Glad you like the cover.

You've got some beauties to place on your beautiful new shelving, which seems rightful. Reading Malazan on an every-other-book basis seems wise to me, now that I've dipped my toe in. Here's to lots of cozy winter reading.

I wonder, is there such a thing as too grim and too dark? I think I found my limit once with a Michael R Fletcher book, but the problem was that there was so much violence in that world that I lost my immersion, in the sense that the societies and economies of that fantasy world simply wouldn't be able to function with so many people getting killed all the time.
I am also reading Fire and Blood right now, I'm in the final quarter. It was a pleasant surprise.

Enjoying a Black Company reread. Will see if I just donthebfirsr ornthe first three. Theybare fairly short and forgot how much Ibloved them. I don't have the next Then likely Lions of Al Rashan. Was very surprised tonfind the Gormengast omnibus at half orice so might see what that is all about.
