How often are you feeling overwhelmed AF? Monthly? Weekly? Every-Freaking-Daily? You’re not alone. We live in a noisier, busier world than ever before and our brains aren’t designed to keep up with the new pace.

In this video, I want to EXPAND on how to make your overwhelm disappear with a brain dump, by taking that concept further with 4 steps to avoiding overwhelm in the future too. Because let’s get real...this is a pattern and until we break the habits behind it, a simple brain dump will only be a bandaid.

FREE CLASS: How to Use a Holistic Approach to Create a Profitable Biz Without Burning Yourself Out

First step: admitting “I am overwhelmed!” and understanding WHY (it’s not just because of what’s happening). And then doing the right things to not just overcome overwhelm right now, but really break the inner patterns leading to it.

This isn’t about productivity or losing control of your time. This is about the psychology and the bad habits behind feeling stressed and overwhelmed, and the things we must do to make overwhelm vanish.

(BTW, I’m mostly talking to those who work for yourself, but these concepts hold true for anyone. If you’re feeling stressed and looking for ways to overcome overwhelm, follow these 4 steps to the letter.)

This video is right on time for me. I took the winter off from work to recover from some major imbalance and anxiety. Changes things up in my business and then came back to it in the last few weeks. I spent all last week working in every spare moment and quickly realized my pattern! Ah I just go all in and don’t do anything for peace and joy when I get like that. So my action steps I think need to be scheduling work blocks so I also create time for the other things in my life.

I love this idea of addressing the patterns that lead to our overwhelm (and also I think the underlying habits that lead to it; maybe an inability to say no). For me I think it’s definitely my tendency to not get a lot of hours of sleep (not going to bed on time) and overscheduling. Oh and self care like woah! Btw this was a very useful video with tips that are non-templated (i mean they’re not cliché and are a good new way of looking at things so thanks Tara!)

I just did a video on de-cluttering of ourselves (spring cleaning), and it fits so nicely with getting rid of the overwhelm. I definitely think self-care is one of the most important parts of staying out of the overwhelm. I’ve been slowly eliminating things out of my life so I can focus where I know I should.

Thank you, I really needed to hear this at the moment! I'm feeling super overwhelmed at the moment as my health is getting worse and I'm going through new diagnosis (with no real treatment options) so having to figure all that out on my own whilst trying to run a house, a business from my bed and other family issues going on. I know I need to cut everything back to focus on my health as I keep pushing it and crashing for weeks (which just increases the to-do lists and overwhelm!).
My plan for this week is to go through all my schedule and routines and cut everything back as much as I can, get a huge brain dump organised and try and get a lot of the smaller tasks like sending emails and making phone calls out the way as the longer my list is the worse my anxiety gets and the more I procrastinate! I know I take on way more than my current health situation permits so I'm going to have to be very strict at saying no to things, even it makes me feel guilty.
Turning off social media and keeping my phone on silent and only checking it once a day really helps. I think now people are used to not being able to contact me on demand so I don't have that pressure of instantly replying. That's definitely helped decrease overwhelm from that side of things.
