Amazon Affiliate links to the 3 cool products we talked about in this video:

In this video we stain 3 wooden decks with Ready Seal using our Graco Magnum X5 Airless Sprayer. We chose Ready Seal's Light Oak color for our decks. The Graco Magnum X5 Airless Sprayer makes quick work of applying even coats of Ready Seal to our decks, and particularly the balusters which are very time consuming to stain with a brush.

This is the fastest and easiest way to properly stain your deck or any outdoor wooden project.

The goof-proof nature of the Ready Seal stain is very forgiving and uneven coats or runs due to over-application are not noticeable in the end results.

We even used our Kubota L2501 Compact Tracor to move a heavy Big Green Egg on and off the deck for this project.

Ready Seal has proved to our family that it is the solution we'll use to protect our outdoor wood projects for years to come.

Thanks for watching!

Great video. Saw mineral spirits. Did you have to thin the stain? What graco tip did you use? Thanks!

What a great video! I would never trust myself with a spray gun. I have always rolled out our oil based stains for the decks. I chuckled about your “tan” as it probably was a good dose of that stain.

Great presentation from a novice painter. Killer house and decks. You used one of the best user friendly products on the market today. It is bad ass in my 41 years of painting experience. Your deck prep is beyond impressive. Waiting to paint or stain pressure treated lumber for a year is a a great idea as well. You are the man to listen to for those homeowners who do DIY projects.

By using "oil-based" stain you "Sir" got it going on ! That water-based stain is just "Envro-colored Water";= 96% a was of time & money. Oil-based stain is "Rare&Expensive " but ABSOLUTELY the BEST. An Excellent Job "my good Man". Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe home improvements. Best wishes with all your endeavours.

Excellent demonstration. I have the same sprayer and will be staining my 15x20 deck and 3 step stairs in a month using ready seal as well. I saw you used 8 gallons for 2 coats. So you know the square footage your deck and railing? I'm trying to figure out how much stain I'll need with the over spray.

Super hard to watch this without proper PPE. Thanks for the video though. Was curious how the light oak color turned out. Cheers.

Very helpful video! Are you using sprayer for speed? I would think wood could absorb roller stains better. How’s the stain holding up after a year?
How often should deck be restained? Love your big backyard. Thank you!

Nice video
I was worried i wouldn't be able to use the sprayer but looked pretty easy for a beginner to be able to do
Is there any reason you bought the model or brand of the sprayer you have? TIA

PPE? Clothing, glasses, mask? I would not attempt this without them!

Two questions:
I only pressure washed and sanded my 84 Lumber pressure treated wood deck floor after 1 year. I brushed stain on. Here are my questions:
1. I can’t see where 2 coats is recommended (even on ready seal sight). So, why 2?

2. Surface is slick after 2 days. Is that normal?

Thanks!

Did you use all 5 gallons of the stain or how much did you have leftover?

Great vid, but please wear eye protection and, when using a spray gun, a respirator!

great job but next time get yourself a full face mask and respirator. I'm sure that stuff isn't good getting absorbed in your lungs and through your eyes.
