Skip to 3:01 for the fix! thanks for watching.

I broke my camera lens!

Well, sort of... my camera tends to fall a lot while recording. And it just so happens that the last time my camera fell lens down and caused some sort of issue. After a brief diagnosis is determined the problem wasn't with my Sony a6400 but instead with the 16-55mm Kit lens. After a little bit of working on it, I managed to fix the lens. Hope this video can help out anyone with a similar issue with this lens.

Camera fell last night and the opposite was happening, the lens would not open. I got the same lens error and I thought either the camera or lens was cooked. After watching this, I was able to see that the lens, while closed, was not even. After some pulling, I heard a solid click sound. Turned it off and on again … lens came back to life. Thank you so much!

Hey I just wanna say, you saved my Sony's life. Had a similar problem and was ready to (painfully) buy a new lens but WHO KNEW all it took was just 'popping it back in place'! THANK YOU!

THANK YOU!!! This is the only vid I found that solved my problem. I was staring at the “lens not attached correctly” message on my camera at the same time you were and felt less alone😂 mine popped back into place with the second method as well. So many thanks!

Holy crap, thank you for this video! I had the same problem except it was stuck when collapsed and would not move. Looked at it closer after this and noticed it was just slightly uneven, pushed it back in completely and now it works again!

Thanks so much. Your second method worked for me. I’m really happy about this. Thanks for helping out! Maybe worth noting that mine was in tight to the body and I couldn’t pull it out, so I tried pushing it in instead and I heard the click you described, so pushing in also works.

I was having the same message error with mine and I got a bit annoyed that you didn't talk about method 3, because my lens wasn't crooked or out... Or so I thought. Upon closer inspection, the lens was slightly extended (±4mm). Just pushed it back in and it worked... I was about to go to the store to get it fixed, so thanks a lot some saving me time and money!

Wow man, I actually fixed mine with method 2. :) Thanks! Mine was more difficult as the thing was stuck in default position and not extracted, but i pushed it back so its straight and now it works! Fixing it came with a very worrying loud click sound. :)

i had the same error and solved it in the second method. I squeezed the lens until it clicked, it clicked into place and turned on. Thank you very much! <3
