Am I A Terrible LEGO Fan?? It's Time We Sorted This Out...

It's 2023 and I've decided to finally get my life together. There are a lot of things I want to tackle this year, with my LEGO collection being a priority. I've never had a great organization system, but I have a TON of stuff that probably should be organized. Today, I'm going to create a minifigure organization system that will hopefully help me take control of my minifigs so they aren't just scattered around the floor.

I bought organizers in the craft section at the dollar store. Each minifig has its own little spot, each case holds 36, and they are MUCH cheaper. For labelling I use a label maker - it is easy, looks good and is fun to use!

Genuine question: Why don't you display your Minifigures somewhere? You have a gorgeous collection and it would look great!

I actually just got my own collection slightly more organized recently. I fell in love with these organizers from Dollar Tree and now I'm obsessed with organizing the rest even though I know it'll be a disaster again one day

I was telling you the other day I slowed way way down on Lego purchases. I was the same way as organization problems. Well I faced my self and said I was a hoarder and sold off a bunch of Lego. I feel so much better now that I did that 👍🏻😊

Minifig sorting is a tough task but you do whatever makes sense for your needs. Personally how I sort is by breaking them all down to torso, legs, heads, hair, hats, etc and keep the parts separate so I can build custom figs with the pieces. Your bins would likely go further vs having full figs pilled in there. Also building your own figs are far more fun and usually look ten times better than the generic stuff Lego includes in sets. I do however keep licensed figs as is because they are more identifiable and valuable.

The sound of loose minifigures being rummaged through is like nails on a chalkboard. I bag them and then organize them in plastic bins: Marvel, SW Clones, SW Empire, SW First Order, SW Rebels/Resistance.

I liked the inside vlog style of this video. The minifigure organization looks good

Ross' editing insert was hilarious and SO right! 🤣 The organization looks great! I try to display most of my minifigs, but I think I'll do something similar for the ones not on display.

If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, they have less expensive, but very handy storage boxes too. But it looks like that ship has sailed.
I recommend continuing the organizing. It makes building so much less stressful. And...will make it easier to buy what you need!

Fun video!

I ogranized mine through shelves I made, screwed a couple 1x1 boards from Home Depot together and Kragled on some 2-stud-wide black plates to stand minifigs on

@7:48 - I hear you Ross! Time to hound Emma about it! And other dog puns I can't think about! 🐶🐕🐕‍🦺

Oh, and in regard to the sorting. Looks better than mine. Mine is more like your original sorting... currently trying to decide if I want to split it up into head - torso - legs or keep full minifigs in one place. Need the same kind of boxes you found though! They seem perfect for the job!

I have the same issue. so many minifigs and no idea how to store them. I would recommend going to Harbor freight for organizing cases though, they are cheaper and have a lot to choose from.

Tackle Boxes at Walmart. They're only $5-6. I would go with the Flambeau ones. Those are cheap. Lots of dividers.

The bead boxes at the craft store are a perfect size for Mini figures. I get them at Michaels or Walmart in the craft section.

All of my CMFs are in lego display cases hanging on my wall. That way I can always see them. Makes me smile! 8-)

I have an OCD thing where I can't separate my Minifigures from the sets they came with. For instance the Assembly Square minifigures have to be displayed on that particular modular, and I can't put any other figures on it. So the only minifigures that I have organized are cmfs or advent calendar ones that are individually bagged and then the whole series is in a larger ziplock bag

Though expensive, a big green egg grill is an amazing charcoal grill if Ross really wants a good grill!

Whats really bothering me is that you still haven't built the Eiffel tower ah?
It looks such a fun build! Not really sure what's the problem Ms Emmasaurus!
