The UniFI Mobile Router is a compact LTE router that can be instantly set up to provide reliable Internet in any environment – even on the move, and is the first product category under UniFi Mobility. It also features secondary powering options for industrial use cases. With the UniFi Mobility software platform, any number of UMRs can be seamlessly monitored and managed from anywhere in the world. (Early Access)

The story of UniFi has been about bringing much needed change to a dated IT industry. Through powerful software development and focused product design, we have delivered breakthrough experiences for both users and admins alike, allowing organizations to operate far more effectively.

While UniFi has been designed to power traditional organizations, there is a growing number of organizations that are mobile and on the move.

And today we are proud to announce UniFi Mobility, a completely new platform developed specifically for these organizations, along with a new product category: UniFi Mobile Router.

It's a shame it's SIM card is locked into AT&T.Why not have it unlocked so it could be used worldwide?

The locked SIM to AT&T instantly kills the deal for me, which is a shame because that's nothing more than an arbitrary software limit that doesn't need to exist.

Anyone else wondering if this can be used as LTE failover for their other products?

Would be nice if there was a dual sim/carrier option. There is a large market for this though. So hopefully a 5G option with Multiple carrier support comes soon. I am happy to see a DC power supply. This would be my use case. Work from RV and travel where ATT does not have great coverage often.

Will other carrier services / e-sims be considered ? Some carriers work better in areas than others. Does the ATT data plan have a contract or is it month to month?

I do access control work and this is HUGE for me. Not wild about the locked SIM…to AT&T no less, but there is gonna be huge as it develops. DEFINITELY picking one up for testing. Keep being excellent Ubiquiti.

What I'm wondering is if you'll be able to setup a site to site vpn between this and your SOHO setup. If so that would huge.

Been wanting something like this for ages for live/on location broadcasting! Ethernet with LTE failover in a UniFi network! Would have been doubly awesome if it has two SIM card slots for LTE redundancy too!

I'll be happier once you implement some of the basics of that "outdated" it infrastructure. Not having dynamic routing protocols or SNMP on "pro" series devices is a huge oversight. Especially on what could be considered a security device UDM-Pro acts as your firewall, router, and NVR. Not having industry standard monitoring capabilities over such a critical device is a huge oversight.

I was so excited when I first saw this, then I read further and noticed that these are locked. Completely kills the use cases I had in mind. I mentioned it to my engineers and they all felt the same. Cash grab makes this a no go.

I just saw this on reddit and bam now a video.

Can I tether my phone to this for LTE or do I need a sim card?

Same power port at cradlepoint E320-5g.
The thing about mobile ISP devices is that we have to standardize the option to remove the stock antennas to be able to use external antennas for the best possible signal at location. I can do that with the cradlepoint. @ubiquiti can this device #1 use external antennas #2 disable wifi radios #3 wan out with IP passthrough? I can do all this on the cradlepoint from T-mobile. If can with this AT&T device, I might consider getting for load balancing option.

btw, I run all ubiquiti gear when I can.

P.S. USG pro or newer gateways, would be nice if the new UI worked better for dual ISP load balancing setup as well as a triple ISP option. Eg fiber and two wireless providers. With load shifting based on capacity/throughput so that failover is automatic.

Does this have a battery or do you have to provide power

I would have ordered multiple if this was not locked in with AT&T

Is it compatible with Canadian carriers?

This is awesome. Please make this line a Peplink alternative; IE do Speedfusion, but do it the UI way, do it better and license free. (WAN Smoothing, Bandwith bonding, FEC)

Would be great to have seamless VPN and dns capabilities so you can access any IP device attached to it remotely— for example IP cameras. Super exciting!

LTE, really? Is it at least the 300 Mbps version? Because UniFi stationary LTE modem is only 150. I would gladly use an Ubiquity product for my main home connection (which is mobile), but they're sub par in this area. I'm not sure how does it look in the US, but Europe is waiting for an upgrade!

use a cradle point that allows for dual sims and then plug into whatever router you want
the idea is good one but needs dual sims and a few other tweaks that way you can dispense with 2 or 3 other devices (grand would be uni device that connects to a switch and then to the devices in the truck or whatever else)

That looks really sweet, I do havesome clients who could need this.
