For this Top 10, we’re looking at the best games specifically released for the Gameboy Color, rather than enhanced ports of original Gameboy Games, that means that The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX is out. That being said we are dropping the one per franchise rule for this list alone … just this one.

Pokemon Gold / Silver were probably the best Pokemon games ever made in my opinion. First time they expanded on the OG lineup and 16 badges, day night cycles, eggs - The list goes on!

I love the two zelda games on this list. I have re-played them so many times and never get tired of doing it. In my opinion those two are the best gameboy color games

Survival Kids, Legend of the River King, Lufia, Magination. There were an insane amount of amazing games for a portable 8-BIT system from the 90's. Plus the GBC sprites hold the same charm to me as NES, and SNES graphics.

I discovered Shantae only some days ago and I can't understand how most people don't know this beautiful pearl of a game. It's fun and pretty challenging. Love it!

Those Harry Potter RPG games for GBC were amazing (Chamber of the Secrets even better than Sorcerer's Stone). Unexpectedly well done, and funny to play, should be on the list in my opinion.

Ah, the Game Boy Color. I remember playing Pokémon Gold on my gold/silver Pokémon GBC on every single vacation I went on as a kid. That really was the life. Thanks for the great memories, Nintendo. ❤

Also, what about Hamtaro: Ham-Hams Unite? I loved that game and it was actually decent.

I’m not that old but in the olden days, from where I am, we used to play physical games all the time. Most of the kids of my age only introduced to video games in the early 90s. I myself was introduced to GB/GBC games in ‘99 when I was 16. Pokemon Blue is my first GB/GBC game ever.

mario golf on gbc was awesome - the RPG elements made it really stand out against the other golf games. I'm surprised it didn't get a mention as a result.
