Can you talk about all the sand mining that is going on? What is it used for? Is that part of your family’s business?

I fricking love it! You’re the only guy I’ve come across who gets in the field for corn harvest before me. I’m sure some Texas guys have us all beat though. For 10 of the past 23 years, I’ve been working with some parent seed from the land grant system out of Nebraska. Real short season stuff. What has had all my neighbors scratching their heads, is that I’m also the last one in the field to plant. Around here, the cow is king. I love all the grazing time I get in the spring and the fall.

Thinking back to manual harvesting and now having these machines, what a miracle of technology!

Fuel filters like oil filters, change at regular service intervals, to keep everything running at top performance I changed oil at 75 hrs and 150 on fuel. I did filter before it was put in the equipment also. Switched from old standard fuel oil to Ruby Red premium fuel. Clean dry fuel always. The corn reminds me of Iowa in 1988, stay strong better weather is on the horizon. River bottom can be very tricky with all of the sand involved. I would eliminate waiting for rain man, that lake will provide nice water supply. Your yield is good compared to 1988. I combined all of the corn acres. some was corn on corn 24 rows half a mile long to fill up the hopper of the combine, 30 inch width.

That little clip you pried out of your water sensor, just take your thumb and push that in and it will release. Hello from Iowa. Great video. This is my favorite farming channel and I watch them all. Stay safe guys.

great love to see the combine getting, after the corn. Hope, your yield improves. Many areas short on moisture crops little thin.

Few appreciate the risk taking farmers are subjected to due to weather, market conditions, political winds, world events and just plain ole bad luck. Making a profit is like winning the lottery sometimes - few real winners but the faithful keep on going.

Daniel, just a friendly piece of advice here. Brake cleaner can actually damage plastic especially fuel filter bowls and the plastic caps on semi hubs. It causes them to weaken and get small cracks in them. Its better to use starting fluid to clean them. Keep the videos coming.

All u had to do was screw out the valve to drain out the bowl and drain it into a bucket instead of all over the ground. Usually it only takes a few ounces of fuel drained from that bowl to clear that code.

Welker’s Farm in Montana is on their 4rth drought year. It’s so hard to watch you farmers put all that work into prepping the fields & planting then not getting rain. In our area of PA, surrounded by mountains on all sides, the rain goes around us. Our rain barrels were only filled 3x this year. We’re only concerned about our gardens, not big farms.
