my mom is legally blind and not by choice, I dont know how I feel about this woman's choices. however I do strongly feel that she should not be entitled to disability or any of the subsidized programs out there for the blind. exp. pay for your own seeing eye dog

I have no problem with Jewel trying to be blind. but i think she shouldve donated her healthy eyes instead of ruining them.

I'm legally blind with corrective lenses or contacts. I desperately want to keep my vision. I knew an elderly woman who was told she might lose her remaining vision and when we talked about her learning to use the white cane, she started crying because the idea of total blindness was so frightening.

This makes me so upset. She had eyes she COULD see out of . And there's people out there that are born blind or lose their sight through no fault of their own and shes willing chooses to blind herself. It's wrong.

This is bullshit. Many people in my family have eye issues or are completely blind, including myself. I'm close to being blind and within a decade I may be. The fact that she would say having sight is restraining or hindering her freedom to live is enraging. Me and everyone who has eye issues or is blind would kill to have perfect sight. I legitimately hate this woman for this. And for Dr. Phil to try and justify this and say she is perfectly sane is absolutely ridiculous. She has a mental issue that shouldn't be fixed by mutilating her body. Absolutely absurd.

I agree with the doctor. This is just twisted. There are people who wish they had what she destroyed. I really dont care if this makes her feel like she regrets this is stupid.
