Dracula is what the saxons called him. It was a misspelling of the name Draculea, which means “Som of the dragon” his father was named Dracul, which means “The Dragon” and Draculesti means “The Dragon House”

Dracula comes from Drăculea
His father was called Dracul which means dragon. He was the son of the dragon.

the character in Stoker's novel was inspired by Countess Erzebeth Bathory, and he thought of calling it Count Wampyr but then he found the story of Vlad Vasarab, AKA Tepes, AKA Dracula and the he loved the name of Dracula thus choosing it for the character.

You are somewhat right, not fully but I see where you're coming from.
Also his name was Vlad Țepeș

This is not actually fact. The consensus is that Bram Stoker MAY have taken SOME little inspiration from Vladimir Tepes, but that he got the idea for Dracula from a nightmare after eating some bad crab. Bram reportedly even claimed that Dracula was of Szèkely origin.

Vlad Dracula, faught back the growing Ottoman intrusion into a highly Christian domain. The acts against the Ottomans were expected in fact they weren't as cruel as what the Ottomans were doing to noble women during the time of this incursion. In fact with increasing Ottoman separatistism alleged the rape and pillaging of thousands of noble women within the region including some 15 20 years after his death there was a rape between the Ottoman soldiery and a noble duchess.

Actually, there where 3 separate reigns and only 1456-1462 was an actual reign, 1448 and 1476 were attempts to claim the throne, the last one, 1476, ended his life.

I heard that Dracula (Vlad Tepes) perhaps was from Cuman Basarab dybasty. So he was cuman Turk (by blood, culturally I guess he was vlach) while Mehmet conqueror was oghuz Turk.

It is also interesting that his father was falled dracul, which in latin means dragon but in vlach it means devil. The Turks and ancestors of Turkic nomads (Scythians, Sarmatians, Huns) had cult of Dragon. Chinese called the capital of Huns Longcheng (Dragon's city). While slavs called their walls built against cumans zmeiny valy which meant serpent or snake walls. They were calling cuman turks zmei (snake and serpents are like small dragons). Herodotus wrote legend about ancestor of royal Scythian dynasty. He claimed their ancestor was Heracles son of Zeus who had children from "Snake woman". Also Huns had dragon on their flags while Sarmatians had dragon ensign. I believe dacians also had dragon cult but after they got christianised they abondoned this cult. While their eastern neighbours saved it. Even Kazan tatars (turks) had dragon on their flag and still have dragon on their coat of arms. Also some of native american tribes had dragon cult like Quetzalcoatl and we know that siberians and americans lost contact like 12 millenia ago when Ice Age ended. So this cult probably is quite ancient.
