This hurts. I've been ghosted by friends, all my friends, after my wife died two years ago.
I remember our first date, when she thought I was not going to "approve" of her appearance, and she couldn't have been more wrong.
We were both so grateful that day that the other person was, for her, a gentleman, and, for me, a lady. 18 years of happiness.
Be nice to people. Widowers and widows, if you're out there....take your time. Don't get pushed into "get back out there". Just take your time and listen to your heart.

Anyone who’s actually been ghosted knows this isn’t how it happens 90% of the time.
How it happens: you talk to a person, it goes usually pretty well, you start to form a connection, maybe even call a few times. You could even go as far as setting up a date, and then they stop responding out of nowhere.
If you’re not interested, you can at least have the decency to say so, that way you don’t leave the other person waiting and wondering with their precious time and emotions. It’s honestly a pretty inhumane thing to do, and as a man I’ve witnessed many women do this
