A statue commemorating the women and girls forced into sexual slavery by Japan during World War II is set to be unveiled next week in Brookhaven,... a city in the northeastern suburbs of Atlanta.
Japan, however,... is lobbying hard to get the statue removed.
Brookhaven's city council unanimously approved the installation last month, but the Japanese consulate in Atlanta has reportedly been flooding the council and the mayor's office with phone calls,... protesting the move.
Locals also say Japanese officials have been encouraging Japanese-American residents to file their own complaints.
Since Japan has already successfully stopped the installment once before,... the civic group behind the statue is calling on residents to send messages of support to the city council.
This statue is set to be the third of its kind on U.S. soil, after those in California and Michigan.

Tired of foreign born residents bringing their issues to The United States, clogging our governments up with stupid crap.
