Osaka to cut sister city ties with San Francisco over 'comfort woman' statue

The city of San Francisco has officially accepted a statue... commemorating the victims of Japan's wartime sexual slavery.
The move has triggered a furious response from Japan,... with the city of Osaka saying it will end its 60 year old sister city agreement in protest.

Back in September,... a "comfort women" statue honoring those... who were forced to serve troops in Japanese military brothels during World War II,... was unveiled in San Francisco.
The first of its kind... to be erected in a major U.S. metropolis,... it sparked a fierce backlash from Japanese officials,... as well as far-right members of the Japanese community.

On Wednesday,... two months after its unveiling,... San Francisco mayor Edwin Lee signed a document... that formalized the city's acceptance of the monument.
It's a notable victory for those who have been struggling to raise awareness... of the historic truth of Japanese war crimes and the plight of the victims.
The reaction from Japan was immediate,... with the city of Osaka saying it will terminate its sister city affiliation with San Francisco... established back in 1957.
Osaka mayor Hirofumi Yoshimura,... had written a letter to protest the statue... saying its acceptance would impair the relationship of trust... between the two cities.
Other "comfort women" monuments in the United States,... include a statue in the city of Glendale in southern California,... as well as a memorial in the state of Virginia.
Seoul and Tokyo have continued to clash overthe wartime sexual slavery issue,... despite a settlement that was struck in 2015,... with the new Moon Jae-in administration citing disapproval... of the vast majority of the Korean public.

For Japanese Army men's pleasure they were building special places where they were raping girls and women systematically, then killing them to hide the evidence of what they did.
Some victims killed themselves. Some never ever saw their family back in their home and died.

Well known fact by most people on the Planet Earth who have some simple knowledge.
It was systematic racial cleansing with using sick methods of raping murdering burning injecting with infections and as real cowards. They were told to kill themselves in case of being captured by USA, CANADA, RUSSIA, UK, AUSTRALIA like their traditional HARAKIRI style.

In memory of this unbelievable magnitude of their invasion and tragedy they brought to every human of those countries. Memorial were built; stories were told from fathers to sons, mothers to daughters (of course those who survived)

Atomic bombs were dropped on Nagasaki Hiroshima to stop those sick evil people hurting innocent population. Obviously Japanese government can't live on with the hard evidence of what their Army had done.

History textbooks were changed in Japan and people of Japan unfortunately will have to learn the truth in the near future of what really took place from 1904 until 1945.
People, instead of barking, learn open your horizons. By denying facts, you are only gonna make yourselves look like a clown.

Many people in the world especially in Korea and mainland China misunderstand the dispute's point. Japan never denies the existence of socalled comfort women(in reality war campfollower or war prostitutes) and admits the existence of them in some battle fields. But Japan testifies those war prostitutes were merely recruited or deceived by private pimps of Korean, Chinese, Japanese etc., but never kidnapped or deceived by Japanese Imperila Army in WWII. Those war prostitutes' yearly income were much higher than miltary Generlas and some Korean prostitutes could buy 2 houses in Korea working for only 2 years.Furthermore as of 2007 Japan's PRIVATE organization have already donated to all war prostitutes of all related nations form the humanity and human sympaty in the past through those governments as below (1) 565m yen ($4.7m) was raised in donations from the Japanese people, and given to 285 comfort women from Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines, each of whom received about 2m yen ($16, 700)
(2)770m yen ($6.5m) in taxpayers' money was provided to pay for medical fees for these women, and for 79 other women from the Netherlands
(3) 370 million yen ($3.1m) was spent building medical facilities and old peoples' homes in Indonesia, rather than compensating individuals there, and the rest was used for the fund's running costs and other smaller projects
And also since 2007 till 2016 Japan's PRIVATE organization donated another more huge amount of money to ex-prostitutes.
But Japan doesn't know whether those all money was surely passed to all ex-prostitutes as those money was passed through each government of related nations. It's the responsibility to pass all money to all ex-prostitutes of each nation's governments.
  At that time the prostitutions business was legally permitted in many nations under the licensed prostitution system, so Japan's comfort women system was legally.Furthermore 60% were Japanese prostitutes, 30% were Korean(at that time Japanese) and 10 % were Chinese etc.

Wherever a wrong thought or idea became reality any place in the world, such as comfort women used by Japanese soldiers in the Second World War, it should be righted as much as possible, and in any positively good way possible, because any wrong anywhere in the world is still a wrong. Therefore, some of the Japanese, who are against acknowledging the hideous crime of comfort women during the second World War, should change their stance, because to heal even a little from such a terrible wrong, it should be righted as often as possible, and brought out into the spotlight, therefore the Comfort Woman statue accepted in San Francisco, is not an insult to Japan, but simply a way to try to right a great wrong done by Japanese soldiers, and the Japanese leadership during the second World War.
