Alec Baldwin ’s involuntary manslaughter trial in New Mexico came to a sudden and surprising halt on Friday while the judge considers a defense motion to dismiss the case over disputed ammunition evidence in the killing of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Alec should have never been charged. It was NOT his fault or responsibility, he couldn't know the gun was loaded (as there was a reasonable expectation of safety). Nevertheless, this was a major screw-up on the prosecution's part. Makes you wonder how many times they got away with stuff like this. Glad that the judge didn't make excuses for it, and dismissed the case with prejudice. It had turned into a witch hunt against Alec (who, let's be honest, most people wanted to see him behind bars not for this incident but for his political views)
