Good information. Paid off for me after someone broke into a home I was renting a room in while at work and owner out of state. They stole both of our property but the insurance covered my losses.

I have a question.. If i file a claim of a Brake in would the Insurance ask me for proof of each item that im claming? And if they do what happened if i don't have receipts or model numbers of the items im claiming?

Uhhh...no, my rental flooded, my $5000 cinema camera was ruined, the adjuster offered my $200!!! He said if I buy a new one for $5000 and show a receipt, he'd offer me $2000..so I have to spend 5k to get back 2k. They talked it up selling me on it..if you call to file they immediately tell you to not bother filing because they're not gonna give you much. What a joke!

I have renters insurance with ALLSTATE and it's been a nightmare. You don't talk about the run around they give you. Its been over 6 montha and i am still getting the run around and that includes prood and photos with all my inventory. So what exactly are we paying for

Best kept secret is apparently still a secret because you didn't mention the single most important and costly loss in an apartment, water damage. This is the biggest secret because insurance companies hid the fact that they don't cover this like the Holy Grail. Every insurance quote I got online didn't mention this and still allowed you to purchase a policy.

I don't have the receipt for my sectional that I paid 3000 for ...how would I get reimbursed for that should anything happen to it....

Why doesnt renters insurance cover pest issues? Suppose the items you own is rendered useless because of bugs. Is there any insurance to cover costs to replace them? Furniture can be really expensive to replace and pest issues are common that are often the fault of property managers

They said they won't cover my food spoilage from the recent storm and we were without power for 23 hours! I'm just upset!☹️ We have no food, And I'm on oxygen so we had to leave.😔

I wish id have gone with you. I went through Geico who subs out to Assurant. I have 100k comprehensive. I rent one side of a duplex.
I'm having trouble getting my landlord paid for the damage I caused to the water heater.
Assurant has had me talk with 4 different people all day 6 hours on the phone and email. Now I have a new adjuster. What's the secret to getting these guys to move.
Btw, their website is full of fake reviews. With no source, all mostly 5 star and many that repeat same words exactly.
