5 Best Ways to Improve Your Landscape Photography

As we are all looking to improve the landscape images we create, it's helpful to break it down into the five areas of landscape photography.

The less you have to concentrate on selecting and operating your gear, the more time you can dedicate to the artistic side of landscape photography.

Through observation, you start to work out the story you're going to capture and begin to visualize the image you want to create.

Being able to read the light in a scene means you have a better chance of predicting what the light is going to do, and understanding how to use that light in your image will go a long way to improving the landscape photos you take.

Your composition should simplify a scene, guide the eye and
engage and connect with the viewer. Telling a story through your image is fundamental to Engaging the viewer and helping them connect to the landscape.

When it comes to creating a final landscape photo, 50% is the capture, and the remaining 50% is the post-processing.

I have to agree, watching the landscapes features interacting with each other has to be one of the funnest parts about being out there with your camera 😊

Thank you Andrew, I'll be watching the links after work. I'm finding Different photographers teach these principals in different ways and I find I take something from each. This has given me another building block of information, each different approach makes you think of things in different ways until eventually it all comes together. One light bulb moment after another. I have been having light bulb moments with light photographing horses and I'm finding my style now, a satisfying feeling, but I still have a long way to go. Thank you for your clear tutorials.

Thanks for a great video Andrew. I'll check out everything through your links. I found it interesting to see the unedited raw file and the processed image. Enjoy your break!
