In this video, we have a look at cryptanalysis with distributed computing. We have a look at the basics of distributed brute-force attacks (for example for breaking DES-encrypted ciphertexts). Then, we have a look at distributed cryptanalysis using an unstructured peer-to-peer-network in detail.

Furthermore, we have a look at Klaus Schmeh's DES 56 bit challenge from 2019, which we want to break using distributed cryptanalysis implemented in CrypTool 2. For that, we also need the help of you, watching this video :-). You can actively participate in breaking the Schmeh challenge by connecting to CrypCloud and spending computational power.
