Why Women Prefer Male Bosses

Studies show that when women have a preference, they would choose to have a male boss instead of a female boss. Participants in one study described their female bosses as “emotional,” “catty,” or “bitchy.” Where does this aversion to female bosses come from? And why do some women seem to undercut each other at work?

Men don't need to get along to get things done

Not happy to admit it, but it's true. Been bullied by women far more than by men in the workplace.

I could care less about the gender. Just act professional. But so far almost every women I've worked with ALWAYS cause drama or I see women bullying other women.
So sometimes I do rather have a male boss...

The nicest boss I ever had was a woman.
The worst boss I ever had was a woman.
The best boss I ever had was a man.

Atlantic tried to blame men for women hating having a woman boss. Gets shut down in the comments section.

Where does this feeling come from? Reality and experience.

I'm a woman who openly admits I tend to prefer to work for male bosses. Why? Because nearly every female boss I've had proved the rule by bringing their personal/attitude problems to work and taking it out on subordinates. Even now, while working for a woman who likes me currently, it's frustrating how she treats my fellow employees. A few have quit as a result, the latest 2 may soon enough, and I'm considering it too. Because this shit gets OLD. And yet here it is occurring AGAIN. And still people wonder why some of us out here feel the way we do. Must be a man's fault, right? No. It's the fact that apparently a good number of women who rise to positions of authority have no business being in those positions. Why? Don't know but it impacts our lives, so sitting around theorizing about how somehow this is the patriarch's doing isn't actually helpful and won't change a thing. No man makes a woman bring her relationship (spouse, kids, etc.) problems into the workplace and then behave spitefully toward those who have no choice but sit there and take it if they intend to keep their job.

You know one reason I'm pretty certain is behind this trend? A lot of these women can't manage their home lives well, so they wield power at work instead. Over and over again this appears to be the case. But to acknowledge this out loud is to invite others to accuse us of having "internalized stereotypes and misogyny, " even when we're women too! That's bullshit. Nothing more than gas-lighting.

Women seem to judge women more than men

The "solution" proposed in this video is absurd! EVERY experience (with one exception) that I've had working for women or in a team comprised mostly of women has been an absolute, unmitigated disaster. The micromanaging, two-faced, backstabbing, catty, bitchy nastiness and bullying have been unprecedented. And the pettiness over stupid, nonsensical things! During a job search last year, as soon as a headhunter told me the manager was a woman, I told them NO WAY, I am not interested. I won't even waste my time. I've had a couple of male managers who were jerks, but by and large, all the men I worked for were pretty easy and straightforward to deal with. Do the work, do it well, deliver in a timely manner, ensure the stakeholders are satisfied and all is fine. NEVER had any issues. THAT is how it should be!

As a female, I really prefer working with male bosses more than female. Somehow, most of the senior female I’ve come to work with are extremely difficult to work with. I noticed that younger female (under 40) are generally more friendly and easygoing, while many of the older female are absolutely rude and picky.

I think your “solution” to the “problem” sums up exactly WHY this problem exists in the first place...

Make it easier for women to rise to the top? That's a red flag right there.

This video STARTED out really well.
It revealed a surprising fact: (most women prefer male bosses), and then followed it up with more Actual Facts around that topic.
But then it ended with some completely unsupported opinions and suggested "solutions", that were couched in the language of fact. Yet had no objective support behind them.
I would have given this video a definite like if it wasnt for that.

There should be seminars on how to help women work with other women. I am not joking. It would be extremely beneficial

"We could make it easier for women to break through the top"?? Easier than what? Easier than men? Why? How is it equalitarian to make it easier for women than men just so that top is more crowded by women? In the process of making it easier for women, will it be justified that we throw away some men who were just more qualified than those women who went to top but had it harder than women?
