Temptress - Boat Building Plans Tour, here is a look around the first all new, modern wooden boat building plan set that has been produced by myself and Michel Berryer.

In this video I am going over the plan set for Temptress, an all new 24ft modern wooden runabout. Temptress is a boat building plan set up for modern, cold moulded construction and is configured to be powered by an Ilmor 365hp V8. Major components and jigs are designed for CNC cutting to greatly improve the setup and early construction stages of the boat.

after a very long scrollin and viewin, years spent, finally a channel that answered my questions, thank you for sharing this amazing work of yours, , , it would be much appreciated if you could do a trawler type hull, 15-19 footer, pilothouse type, thats a bit of a fishing at the same tym a camper, more on extreme survival type of use, just a suggestion, just cant hold my excitement, again thank u, god bless

This is the future of amateur boat building. I was sick of Glen-L designs from 19th century which is 70% building and 30% trying to sort out the plans. I believe this will be the boat I'll build.

Have not seen anything come across as complete as this, you can see a lot of time and effort has been required. I would love to see what you have prepared for the fit-out of the boat, from seat manufacture, gauges, and brightwork through to engines etc. Will these be part of the package?

I would also love to see one of your customers (preferably as they will give us a real-world experience), or yourself, of course, going through the build process. From control P of the plans to the water test.

Beautiful yes, but reminds me of a mix of a 50´s Hacker and a 60´s Riva Ariston. When re-designing these classics, it´s ok to make them more modern. I would have sized it up to 29 ft, added a slanted transom with a walkthrough to a tiny structurally integrates swimstep. I would have added more volume to bow and tapered the lines back, like the Rio Colorado or the Aquarama. A good example of a modern re-invention of a classic is Marc Newson´s interpretation of the Riva Aquariva, (Yes I know the Aquariva in itself is a re-invention of the Aquarama). In the design of the transom, Newson borrowed from the past, more specifically from the Rio Espera from around 1969, and introduced the rear "wings" flanking the transom walkthrough. It´s an absolutely gorgeous design, that could be awesome in a wooden version, maybe scaled down from 33ft to 29ft. Dan - Have a go at the drawing board ;-)
