What Happens if you Deep Freeze Dynamite with Liquid Nitrogen? Will it still Explode? Are blasting caps going to work? We are going to use some liquid nitrogen and explosives to find out

Don't try this at home!

"That was surprisingly safe" would make a good t-shirt too.

I loved Henri's reaction to being wrong. Not with shame but with excitement 😁 I think that's always a good way to approach being wrong.

You should do something with the massive pressures exerted by water to ice expansion. Apparently between 25, 000 to 114, 000 psi!!!

Goddamnit! *Puts big lump of dynamite back in kitchen drawer*

I love waking up to HPC alarm clock notification. Hello from Las Vegas.

One rule of thumb in chemistry is that for every 10 degrees celsius you raise the temperature of a reaction, the rate of that reaction will double. Or likewise if you're cooling the reaction it will half the reaction speed for every 10c you cool it. So without having seen the video yet, the explosion should be relatively longer in terms of how fast an explosion is, but will still give off the same amount of energy. When something explodes, you're converting the solid (or liquid) explosive into a cloud of hot gas very quickly and the explosion is the expansion of that hot cloud of gas. The faster the explosive is converted into a gas, the more violent the explosion will be. So it should presumably be less violent, but the explosion will still release the same amount of energy, just over a longer period of time. So I'm not entirely sure what that will do to the effect of the explosion.

I know it's gonna be good when I see Henri. Cheers 👍

I love the high tech of the remote control: just the wires that will detonate the dynamite anyway :D

I like how excited Henri gets when things explode .. I think your experiments with exploding things is awesome ..

Pretty good when the explosive expert Henri says 100% it won't explode and So Lauri WINS, Henri loses. :)

At 6:20 they’re all playing with dynamite but Lauri states “That was surprisingly safe!” They are professionals after all.

I know I would like it if you spent just a little more time on the slow mo shots, though you think "nothing interesting" happened during the LN2 explosion of the dynamite, you forget that watching an explosion in slow mo is by itself interesting. The pressure waves and carnage created by the dynamite is why I came to watch, to see what would happen. You don't have to analyze it, but I would have liked to see more of the mono chrome footage, rather than breezing over it. <3 love the content non the less, I just wish you would focus a bit more time into the events that you film in slow mo, even when you don't get the "visually stunning" footage you are after, seeing the event it self regardless of outcome, is still interesting.

Don't even need to read the caption. I see Henri in the thumbnail, and I click the video!

Nothing better than a cup of coffee and a hearty explosion on the BTP channel! 🥽😷

The blasting cap side by side tells it all.. The warm cap has a distinct and visible shock wave and the frozen sample does not.. The speed of the reaction is affected. The frozen sample"s propagation doesn't even reach the speed of sound. It appears to be the same on the larger sample and the reaction looks incomplete based on the differences in the gas cloud but that could just be the lighting
