I totally agree. Don’t be disrespectful to your elders. Turn off the damn phone.

Ohhh I so agree with the phone obsession and lack of human bonding because of it.

Manners, people. It's totally rude to go out for dinner with someone and then spend your time looking down at your phone. I love being connected, but I work hard not to become addicted to that. And it IS an addiction.

What is so important that you can't turn it off for an hour? My thoughts exactly 🧐

She's absolutely right about the phone. I know because I'm a middle-aged man and I get addicted and then I say to myself I need to put this down and not bother with it. It's an annoying habit

They have different types of beauty, one is peace and one is personal character

That is why I love going around and shop rather than doing it online. The travel and being able to see other people's faces and enjoying the experience are worth it.

She has a point. There really isn’t anything too important that you can’t put it down and focus more on the ones you love.

As a millennial I thought I was obsessed with my phone until I saw Gen Z.

I was at work this morning, in a different area than where I spend my day-to-day. One of the clerks who often files my paperwork was so nice and excited to have a face to match with the name on my work when it comes through. Different than a conversation, but it was so sweet and I agreed! I would much rather know the person behind the name.

I'm 31 years old with two children. I came to the US when I was 26 years old because of my husband's job and he's also American. I feel grateful for being able to talk and see my family's face on a daily basis because of the technology we have today. Of course I agree the lady on the vid as well.

I’ll be 50 this year, and I loooove all of the innovations that have arisen with the advent of the internet. I refer to the pre-internet era as the Dark Ages, and as an introvert, I MUCH prefer texting & emailing because it doesn’t monopolize my time, nor does it drain my energy. In some contexts, it’ll also be helpful for all parties to have a written transcript of our exchange, so to me, it’s always a win-win.

I don’t need much social interaction, and when I’m choosing to be with someone face-to-face, I’m COMPLETELY present—I want to make moments, which then become stored as memories. Others who aren’t present with people will never form these priceless mental records of interactions, of interesting conversations had. Some of the best exchanges we’re had in checkout lines, and I’m grateful to be the kind of person who’s curious enough to want to be this way.

You never know when you’ll meet someone who’ll make you happy & glowy (and vice versa) for the remainder of the day, simply thru conversation.

I hate texting beyond a question or two to organize a meet-up or some other practical reason.

the difference is that a few generations ago we got told to not do things and we would have got told to put the phone away and if we kept using it it would have been taken off us.. really i would not even have been given a phone by my parents and i would have had consequences if i had not been respectful at dinner.. i know people will defend the childrens right to be self absorbed but it helps in the long run if there's times where we get told "DON'T get your phone out during the meal".. it helps us to build consideration for others feelings, especially if we feel upset at the discipline.. it helps us feel what it feels like to be treated "badly" so we grow up to have more consideration for others

I've seen kids jumping up and down on tables when guests at other peoples houses and the parents don't tell them not to, or scold them at all, then defend the kids right to be bugging as a bugging thing being very bugging but ZERO consideration for the people whose home it was.. that'll just lead to kids growing up with zero consideration for others feelings

Agreed. What is so important on the phone that you ignore your loved ones?
