Solving Equations with Logarithms Pt 2

In a three part video I do many examples of solving equations using logarithms to move the variable out of the exponent. In part two we remove logarithms from the equation to solve for X.

Here are my other PreCalculus lessons involving Logarithms

Is there any way to like all of your videos with one click? Reason being is that I have yet to find one of your videos that have not helped me in one or more ways. Thank you Mr. Tarrou!

I love the "Go do your homework" at the end of the videos, because I usually watch your videos as I'm doing my homework XD

Best guy on the web for math help, hands down. I've learned more in the past 30 minutes than i have in 7 classes of pre-calc.

Lets just say my professor's first language is NOT english! Your video lessons are saving my grade. For english there is Wiki, and for math there is you. Thanks again you rock.

Dude! The bit about making the equation an exponent to the number of the base is awesome. I'm studying online from home and videos like this one save me so much pain. THanks for taking the time!

If you're a professor in a school, they're lucky enough to have you teach them. I've been watching your videos since last year and if I never found out about your channel, I wouldn't be enjoying Math. Thank you so much for making these kinds of videos! You are very entertaining and I'm glad that I was able to maintain my interest for Math because of the way you teach!! :D

Well I did intend on using the same signs as the original problem but my hand disagreed:) My work was consistent with what I wrote...so no problem. I did catch at around minute 4 I changed the sign in my example:) Thank you very much for watching and subscribing. I appreciate the support very much:)

The easiest place to ask questions is actually through my Facebook dot com/ProfRobBob fan page especially if they are a bit complicated. Sometimes I can get to questions right away, and sometimes I need a couple of days. It depends on my workload. You can also search my channel for videos to topics you need help with.

Writing the expression as a radical or to the 1/2 is only a visual change and the issue of not being able to take an even root of a negative number is the same for both. This issue you bring up is why it is very important to plug your answers back into the original problem to make sure they work(don't cause the equation to be undefined). Great question:)

You are the best math teacher I have ever seen. I don't know if your students truly appreciate you, but I do. Thank you so much for being so awesome at what you do. This is the second year I randomly searched for math help and came to one of your videos which actually helped me. I'm so thankful to have found your videos. You're too awesome. If there were more teachers like you, God only knows what this country could be. Thank You again and again and again

You can use either one whenever you like. LOG will save you a step if your problems have bases of 10 and LN will save you a step when there are bases of e (which equals roughly 2.718)
