I always like to max out my tags! Every little bit helps, and it's a great way to think like your viewer in terms of what they're searching for!

Adding tags actually has a higher chance of your video to blow up. I've actually used tags and my video got 200 views in under 2 hours. But remember, you also need to make a good thumbnail. Make it convincing, so that the viewer can be interested. Those are my perspectives on how I used tags and thumbnails. I hope this helps everyone from my perspective.

I used to think the same that tags aren’t much useful because of that statement of YouTube but now as I watch more videos about improving your channel more importance is given to keyword research and using tags 😐

There are 2 things I want to understand better:
1) "Youtube showing a video to a wider audience"
I know the views I get should be about the same but it throws me off since I can't judge that well if a thumbnail is doing well or not
2) Is there a best source for your views to come from?
There are suggested, search and browse features. And if a video gets 200 views per hour from all 3 almost equally is that a win - win? Or should there be a focus on one lane?

Tags are actually very useful, they can affect your videos in a positive way, just make sure not to add way too many of them. Also I think there's a limit on how many tags you can add, I think it's 500 words or letters the limit.

I've been using tags for quite some time, I love the autofill feature of them, it saves me a lot of typing. I also enjoy watching the tags raise my SEO score (I've become a stickler for trying to get 5/5 perfect scores).

Whilst I do get a lot of high scoring tags, I only get one or 2 high ranking tags (with the # next to them).

Here is my question: I have noticed many of my videos have high cpm but very low RPM and I wanna know the reason why? For instance, some videos have cpm = 34, but rpm of 0.79!! Is YouTube cheating me?

I think tags are still useful if you use them correctly. My thought process when adding tags is to give the youtube algorithm as much info in tags as possible to help show my video to the right audience.
