You the realest Andrew. My channel has grown significantly due to the fact that I've been focusing on YouTube and Google search. And by so, I've made the rightly placed tags which are highly ranked stand out with my videos.
I've gained over 800k + views and my major traffic sources are youtube and Google search.
I've also been hearing big YouTubers say they irrelevant and I had same theory as what you said as to they already commanding the masses so particularly need no time to add proper tags...
