I am loving this project series. An amateur here but I think I will purchase the plans as I really have a small shop. PS, I'm a 74 year old woman so won't it be interesting to see if I can do it!

I’m building this! Bought the plans a few months ago, slowly accumulated the parts... and now I’m finishing up this stage - I have a table saw! So far so good... I’m super excited.

A tip for those newer than me: the footplate of my Chicago Electric circular saw is not parallel with the blade. It’s off by about 1/64th over about 5”. Difficult to properly square until installing the throatplate(s). Once the throat is cut out, there’s a nice big hole in the top through which you can square the blade itself with the table top instead of squaring the footplate. A simple enough work-around, it just means the throat plate really needs to be done right away if you don’t get lucky with the Harbor Freight gremlins. Also, I would have only drilled 3 temp holes in the foot/top instead of four. No biggie. FInal thought on that... once this is finished, I expect the first thing I’ll want to upgrade is the saw anyway, and most ‘better’ CSaws have proper foot plates.

Thanks Sir Tommy! I think this thing is genius, and honestly... I would’ve paid more for the plans. Tyty

Really easy to follow. Bought the plans as soon as I saw them!

Can't wait for the final video but boy, you're gonna have to cover a lot of ground in that one!

Thanks so much.

Love your video’s, will definitely be building the MicroShop with a few minor changes, one being I would hold the circular saw base down with screw inserts not screws (suppose we all have our own way of doing things) thanks for idea. Look forward to part 3, 4 etc. Nice one Tommy

I like the intellectuality of your builds. Keep up the great work man.

Excellent!
I would say tho' ...glue 1/4 round into the corners.
Foot pedal on/off switch for saw .
Flush inset bolts for saw attachment, cuz screws walk out and don't offer the same compression on wood.

I can't wait to see the next part. Love how you squared up the saw!

Add a set of wheels and use the extension as a handle, and you get a rollaway workstation. There's also enough room to fit a small vac.

Love this. Wondering how I can adapt safely for battery powered tools?

I think a better way to attach the saw to the top would be to swap out your cut off screws with counter sunk machine screws and nylok nuts. You can do everything the same way but when you get to where you cut off the excess screws remove them (one at a time) and replace with a #8 or #10 machine screw after you counter sink the hole. This will be much more secure and resistant to vibration.

I’d love to see a video on starting woodworking, such as, if you had only $300-$500 (or $500-$1000) what tools would you buy as essential. Perhaps taking into account this MicroShop as a first project to beef up what you bought with the starting money. Your tools are of various quality/price so you are the guy to do it. Just a thought since your whole shop isn’t as overwhelming as others with 10s of thousands of dollars in machinery...yet.

Good video! I think threaded inserts for the saw screws would be a good idea. Is there a reason you didn't use them? Looking forward to the mitre saw adjustment!
