Qi Gong for Healthy Kidneys, Winter Practice - 9 minutes

Показать описание
Wishing all a Happy New Year and nothing but the best for 2023.
Humans are part of nature, honouring and adapting to the seasons through conscious living , diet and exercise promotes and enhances our health and vitality. Winter is the yin time of year, the perfect time to connect with our internal energy. Over exercising or excessive cardio workouts can deplete the body of vital qi during the winter and leave us more susceptible to illness such as winter colds.
It is also very common for people to experience a higher prevalence of urinary tract infections in the colder weather especially after the Christmas period when many have consumed more than a healthy amount of alcohol.
In traditional Chinese medicine the kidneys and urinary bladder are associated with the winter and are particularly effected by the cold, this is why we must take extra special care of them at this time and remember to stay hydrated even though we may not feel like drinking as much water as we would during the warmer months. Exercises included in this short practice compress, squeeze and twist the kidneys helping to break up stagnated qi [bio-electric energy] and stimulate kidney function.
These exercises are easy to learn and can be repeated daily or a minimum of three times per week throughout the winter [or any other time of year] to promote healthy kidneys, while boosting the function of the immune system and increasing the abundance and circulation of qi throughout the body.
I learned the exercises included in this short practice from the wonderful, Dr Yang Jwing-Ming, who is not only a great source of inspiration to me but who is also as wise and knowledgeable a teacher as one could ever be blessed to find.
