In this video, we’re going to talk about a condition called acanthosis nigricans, which causes darkened skin folds on the body, commonly in your armpits, forehead, and groin.
High insulin and insulin resistance cause acanthosis nigricans. Frequent eating and high-carb meals contribute to this pre-diabetic condition. People with diabetes can also develop darkened skin folds.
Acanthosis nigricans can be reversed if you reduce your insulin and blood sugar. Keto and intermittent fasting can help!
Pellagra is a condition that mimics acanthosis nigricans. It’s not as common but can cause similar darkened skin folds around the neck. Pellagra is caused by a vitamin B3 deficiency, often caused by eating too many ground corn products such as grits or corn chips.
If you have darkened skin folds, try keto and intermittent fasting to lower your insulin and reverse the condition.
