Good point. I see it all over YouTube. Your the only one that actually takes safety as a number one priority.
I do jewelry repair and limited creation as a hobby and I make a little from it. I'm mainly a nurse for over 40 years. I see 1000s in the emergency room that never should have been there had they just thought of safety first. Many died because they just never thought it could happen to them.
I have learned long ago Murphy's law. Anything that can happen can and will under the right circumstances and condition.
Stop! Think about what could possibly have if I do it this way? Or that way.
No matter what you're doing driving walking between cars to cross the road or hammering a nail.
Things happen all the time deliberately or unintentional the end result is the same. Some got hurt because they didn't care to practice safety safely.

Very useful for me as I'm about to buy new files for my Jewellery, as my normal ones are very old and very dirty.

That is good to know. I would never thought of that, I would drill maybe if I couldn't bring it down. I'm 55 and still learning.

very clear instructions. I really appreciate these videos. However I somehow managed to get the round file a little skew on the handle. Should I redo it? How do I get it back out? I had 2 handles and I drilled 1 of them. I may have taken the undrilled one. Also while hammering the first time the file shifted downwards in the vice. thank you.

Any advice on selecting file handle length?
I've got a couple of 12" Nicholson metalwork files that need handles.
Can't find any information on the internet that details any correlation between handle length and file or tang length. Thank you for this informative video.
